I had to go look these Icelandic sheep up. I've been thinking about downsizing from cattle. Might be a little easier on the bones. Sheep and goats have crossed my mind on more than one occasion. Around here, you can rent goats out and it's surprisingly good money. (And NO, it's not for some sordid thing!...they are great at cleaning up weeds but not killing the grass).

I grew up around millions of sheep in Wyoming also, so I'm pretty familiar with them in a general sense. They're a little more delicate to raise than goats, but still far easier than cattle are to manage. The Iceleandic breed look interesting. I appreciate the head's up.

edit - And speaking of sheep, I can remember back in the late '70's having to stop my truck on a busy highway while the Basque sheepherders drove herds of 10,000+ sheep across the highway. It literally looked like a lava flow of wool crossing the road, upwards of 1/2 mile wide! The sheep would be so close together that you didn't see individual animals, just a giant flow of brownish white moving from one side of the highway to the other. You got used to this in Wyoming, and it happened pretty regularly in the spring and fall. Not sure if any other State had this, but it was a common sight in Wyoming.

so how can anyone prove 20 big cats died? Take the word of 'officials' at face value?

Yes. In cases of avian flu I do.

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) website has a list of reported cases.
Detections of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in Mammals.
The Wild Felid Advocacy Center is in Mason County, Washington.

I'm 'reddy'!

I was 'reddy' in 2019. I've even managed to remove most of the sand, but not all the glass shards, out of the Vaseline!

DOH! Did I say 2019??? How could this be??? The Woo-Flu wasn't even a thing in '19, right??? Except I got it in Oct of '19, before anyone said it was a thing. And how do I know this? Because after being coerced by every single medical person I encountered to get the "Clot Shot" in 2020, I demanded a test to see if I had already had the virus. Turned out I had (had covid), but it was BEFORE the very first case in the United States! How could this be?? Because the whole thing was the greatest scam ever perpetuated on mankind since global warming!

I hadn't traveled anywhere. In fact, I had done less in that month than probably ever before, BUT I got it...in 2019.

They LIED...and people DIED!

I am convinced I had it in the last months of 2019. I did get tested for it and hade it already instead of the 'vax'. Pretty certain I got it shipped free in with an order from China.

Where do you think the 19 stems from? From 2019. Even though there are references back from 2016 mentioning covid-19 back in 2016, showing it was premeditated.

But back to the virus, it supposedly escaped in september 2019…

Don't have them yet but yes, partly. They're ideal. I found a gal within a hundred miles that has them and they're getting more popular in this area. They shed their own wool but sheering is preferred. They don't have the issues sheep have, their meat tastes more like goat meat which I love. They're smarter than most sheep but not as ornery and mischievous as goats. I love goats but I don't need the headaches at this stage in my life. But meat, fiber and milk. They can live on grass only which is a huge plus. Supplemental grains for the ewes during stages of pregnancy maybe, but they're an incredible animal. After years of research, I feel they're the best of both species. And in fact, Iceland won't allow ANY sheep imported into their country:

Today it is forbidden to import sheep to Iceland, so it has remained very isolated in Iceland and is therefore one of the purest breeds of sheep in the world.

I've raised rabbits but there are so many wild rabbits around here it's not worth the effort and I'm not partial to rabbit meat anyways. I don't want large animals so sheep and chickens it is. A good source on the Icelandics: breeds.okstate.edu...

Chickens are literally the best though. If you're not into dispatching animals for food and other assets, eggs are it. They really are the perfect animal food source which is why so many people have them. Cheap, easy to care for, friendly, and you're not held there 24/7 and can actually be gone for a few days if you need to be elsewhere.

They tried this tactic in the UK last winter with the "urgent, keep away from wild birds especially if they're dead on the floor" BS. it didn't take off then and I don't think it'll take of now. At the moment in my area we have a blitz of the flu and because we have more than our fair share of "touchy" oldies they are blocking the A and E departments and as you know the Authorities WILL interpret that with what they want.

A buddy of mine in Cali said a dozen eggs were $11 yesterday.

I saw a pic off facecrack of people with shopping carts full of eggs just like the TP hoarding days. Could have been mom and pop restaurant owners? Who does that with eggs?

Stupid really is as stupid does.

tinyurl.com...

The UK's resilience towards Avian Flu is due to preventative actions. Those preventions include the destruction of tens of thousands of food-chain birds when required.

We do not have an Avian Flu problem in the UK because we have an active and effective prevention and containment strategy.

You, crayzeed by name, crayzeed by nature are out of touch with reality and have clearly been spending way too much time in your echo chamber and that ignorance of yours is verging on a danger to others.

I don't know where you got your information from but I worked in the controlled environment industry (that's mass chicken laying or food breeding houses/sheds) and a 10,000 bird house was small and being as I still have friends still in the industry and NONE and I mean none have been slaughtered for this so called prevention scheme. And I live in the centre of the country and have heard nothing about any cases and being as they put up large posters on the side of the road, I'd say yes scare tactics.

So my friend went to the local grocery store (MN) this morning and told me an 18 pack of eggs was $10. It's crazy,...already. Three weeks ago they were $7.

In the UK we lost a lot of seabirds, swans, ducks etc.

Thankfully it did not spread to humans.

I saw quite a few swans in distress which was sad to see.

Was it just me, or does anyone else recall eggs having some part in waylaying the side effects of the jab?

Just curious.

A LOT of blue States and cities are reeling in the wake of their social experiments going belly up.

Another nice, juicy infusion of "pandemic relief" would wash away a lot of accountability for their horrendous policies and fiscal misappropriations.

California should be making the most noise being billions in the hole and hemorrhaging their tax base to other states by the thousands every year. Their campaign to give healthcare to all is another experiment that SHOULDN'T be rewarded or encouraged by a round of bail outs.

You'd think after having their family and friends wiped out, that the populace would be in a frenzy over familiar policies making a return. But we'll see.

COVID was probably meant to weaken people in preparation for a wrecking ball kill shot they had planned all along.

But we shall see.

Well How can you tell if the chicken you buy now is safe?

"In Darke County, 931,302 commercial chickens were confirmed positive for bird flu by the National Veterinary Services Laboratory on Dec. 27."

If it can contaminate Beef Pork and all other meats what the hell are we going to eat

Cooking your meat properly kills the virus and all the other yuk. That's what's so crazy. The meat is only bad if you were to eat it raw. Use proper handling techniques and cook it. That's it.

California has a very diverse culture. Lots of of people from all parts of the world, and most of them eat eggs in one form or another.

One thing I've noted regarding people who have recently entered as immigrates (and the thing I most enjoy!) is that one of the first thing immigrant cultures do is open small restaurants and cafes; as a source of income.

These family-owned (as opposed to corporate) eateries depend on places like Costco and Sam's Club for the bulk ingredients they need to keep their places open, and profitable.

And considering the fact that eggs are an essential ingredient in so many dishes in so many cultures, it should not come as a surprise to see people rolling cart-loads of eggs out the door.

Especially if there is word of a threat to the supply passing like wildfire through tight knit communities via word of mouth.
