Smartest man in the world, with IQ of 220, tells what he thinks happens upon death.
I guess he bases this on science and math ... dimensions and energy ... dunno ...
He calls his theory - Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe (CTMU)

I'll give a little of the quote, but go read the whole article.   Interesting ...

Smartest Man In The World Shares What He Thinks Happens Upon Death

He believes that when we die, we transition from one form of being to another within the computational structure of reality, meaning the consciousness, or 'soul,' moves to another dimension or plane of existence we cannot access while alive.

He said death is 'The termination of your relationship with your particular physical body that you have at this present time. When you are retracted from this reality, you go back up toward the origin of reality.

Once you transition to this new plane of exitance, you might not even remember who you were before, Langan said.

'You can have - these memories can be - nothing goes out of existence in the math.  'Your memories can always be pulled back out, but there's no reason to do that usually, OK?

The afterlife is something else entirely. It involves a profound shift in our entire being, moving the 'soul' or consciousness beyond the physical or mental self.

There is a bunch more.  Gotta' read the article ... interesting theory.

Considering the number of times I've almost died (even had an NDE,)

I'm starting to lean towards 'quantum immortality' myself.

From our individual perspective we never die, simply change and change until we reach a point where we have morphed into something else.

I can even look at myself 10-20 years ago and it feels like it was a different person.

I am not a smart man by any measure.

So apparently “the smartest man alive” and he can’t really give us anymore than what some random Ayahuasca nut could’ve easily of dream up themselves.

Just makes me more convinced that we’re all in the same boat and have absolutely no idea what this is all about.

This is what I believe also. I also believe they can cross over to our dimension or "plane of existence" which is why there are ghosts

1 sperm 1 egg = 1 soul now is that a new "soul" or one that is being reused what happens to the sperms that don't win the race or the eggs that go unfertilized?

Which one contains the soul the sperm or the egg I'm betting on the sperm winner takes all the others die again and move on to another host to try again could be eons before being born again to any form not necessarily human or even on this planet.

Wow and I'm only 134 .......

I think you have that equation wrong. One egg + one sperm + one soul = normal person. One sperm + one egg = a non player character with no soul. There are way too few people and too many NPCs.

The soul is not measurable by science therefore they don't cover it.

Are you certain this person exists? Could it be a mouse pretending to be a person to run another behavioral experiment?

Many sermise that if we understood the last thought of a bowel of petunias as it plummet to its end, having just been pulled into existance a rather high distance above the surface of a planet, we would understand more of the true nature of life, the universe and everything. That though was, "Oh no, not again!"

Might have an insane IQ, but he’s wrong. It all starts again, just the same. When you die it doesn’t matter if an infinite amount of time, or close to it, passes - you wouldn’t know. Eventually this universe will tear itself apart and die. It will reform. It could do it endless times and you wouldn’t know, until it all aligns again exactly the same down to the last atom, and you begin your journey, the same journey, over again.

When you were young did you have a few memories or thoughts, persistent ones? Memories that stuck with you, just a few and without any real explanation or context? I have met many who have and likely as many who haven’t, or cannot recall anything. I don’t mean from past lives, I mean from this one which you knew or had echoes of when you were very young? Next time I hope I remember Apple, Bitcoin, Tesla and Nvidia. Anyway, just my theory. Like an apple in a box.

Agreed. NPCs are real, and there are many. They are legion.

So apparently a person that likes to constantly imply everyone else here is irrational believes that a unified physics theory -which has evaded the most brilliant humans even with the cumulative benefit of exponentially expanded scientific knowledge over the past century- will be fleshed out in a Daily Mail article in a way that they can understand with no effort.

Go read the paper on CTMU and get back to me on it.

I don't disagree that you have absolutely no idea what anything is all about. It's perhaps the first statement I've seen you make that seems to be fully supported by your posts.

I heard this dude rant.

He's most certainly not the smartest man in the world or anything reminiscent of the sort.

I dont think he actually even has a university degree.

As to profession, he's a horse rancher. And also apparently still works in a bar.

After reading some texts, studying NDEs and going deep into Gnostic beliefs, my thoughts are:

When we die our spirit leaves the body as a soul, this soul can then be trapped into the reincarnation cycle. Tricks are used such as a loved one beckoning, a feeling of euphoria, and the life review during which the soul feels deep guilt for one's actions in the physical world.

I believe we should not fall for this jornshould we follow the white light into bliss.

What would be the point in reincarnating "to learn more" when our mind is wiped.

Why would these Godly beings make us feel guilt when in most cases we see the error of our ways.

There is no advantage to spirit to return to this physical world which is built in endless negativity.

The spirit must escape the post life trap to be truly free. Otherwise we are destined to reincarnate into this negative energy farm.

I am inclined to think, as Jesus tells his disciples in the Nag Hammadi texts, we must prepare for this challenge by knowing our true selves, through meditation and practising compassion. To know your true self is to take away all distractions. Your thoughts are not you. Your thoughts are a result of motivations/influences of the physical world.

The physical world does not even exist. It is a projection of a holographic universe we decide from the energy which exists. A particle, a physical object, is only a particle when it is decided by our soul. Otherwise it is just energy. A wave. Or a "wave function" as physicists label it. But 5 sense science will always be confused with this because it cannot measure consciousness and is unable to observe the true scale of our holographic reality.

I also read extensively about this idea and was even able to ask a few questions to someone whose beliefs were very similar to the theory presented in the OP. And I was able to accompany them. Long before the sad day, I also asked for evidence and received an appropriate answer. And little by little, I now believe in it too, in my own way.

This person was incredibly strong in their beliefs. Positive, helpful to others. Loving. Careful. Protective. Intelligent and wise. When I am lying in my dying bed and can go with such honor and dignity, in this peace, then I will also die happily.

But I still have a lot to do for that. I don't know what happens after death and will never find out.

It doesn't matter whether all of this is true or not. If you use this belief system as your guiding moral and thereby find happiness in life, make others happy and help them and generally move yourself forward in terms of wisdom... If you then firmly believe that you will get another opportunity here - or somewhere else - to develop further, then you can die happy.

The issue of grief for the bereaved also becomes much easier. Then you know that you would not have grief if this wonderful person had not existed. When I understood that, it became much easier. It is the price that my heart makes me pay. It is also an honor for the person.

I have also asked a few of your questions. I am happy to share if there is polite interest, otherwise: not.

For me, because of her death, this is a serious issue that I do not want to or will not argue with anyone about. Exchanging ideas, yes, but answering questions in court or trying to prove something to someone, certainly not.

Respectfully,
Naftalin

I mean, if it helps you live a more content life believing you have all the answers and know everything, then more power to you. I wish I could be that confident (or maybe cocky).

I’m personally just gonna do my time and see what happens without making any assumptions though.

Snap at me and I’ll snap back, but show some respect and I’ll always show it back… it’s how I roll.

And made seismological breakthroughs!

Since I was in third grade, I've had dreams about someone named Rebecca. This person is always very important to me in my dreams and has aged along with me. My wife's name isn't Rebecca; I haven't known Rebecca as a former love interest or casual acquaintance; hell, I don't know that I've even worked with one as far as I know. I've wondered where that came from my entire life; I actually spent time, especially looking for a Rebecca, before I met my wife and have come up empty-handed. I've wondered where that's come from my entire life and can't figure it out. It will probably be my hospice care nurse or something like that, although it could have been someone very important to me in a previous life. A different path was taken; perhaps that led me there; who knows? I don't think if you do go back around again, you will remember much. What you're likely to remember isn't helpful in the future either; it could be as simple as a name with no other context.

I died back in 2014...suddenly (while sleeping). I had past the 15min mark but apparently they got a pulse for a sec and continued to take me to the hospital. I got the usual tubes and ice hoses around my body. I was on life support and had no brain activity and on day 6 the Drs were talking with my wife about "pullin the plug". She told the Drs she'd make a decision the next day (long story short).

Low and behold...I frickin woke up the next day. Now what I encounted while I was "dead", I have never told anyone to this day, no Drs, not my wife, friends NO ONE. But I have all told them this....it's nothing I have ever read about, never seen, never seen pictures, anything.

But I love hearing peoples take on this whole death thing.

Maybe the soul just waits to onboard into the game. They wait for the spark of conception. This spark that occurs during conception probably opens the ‘channels’ for the souls to import.

This smart man makes me laugh a bit. He says we can't access this dimension while alive is totally false. He should just say: He can't, or hasn't.
So called smart people are always trying to speak for everyone else by using "WE". It's more comforting to assume no one else can do the things that he can't do, since he's smart, he must be right. That's the attitude of many.
And this: "Once you transition to this new plane of exitance, you might not even remember who you were before, Langan said. "
That also is totally false. He might be smart having a high IQ, but no amount of IQ gives any spiritual knowledge. That comes from another source.

People DO remember who they are after death, and those who chose to always do evil are left on the other side with a VIVID knowledge of everything they did, and then it's too late to change. Transformed by their way in life to be trapped being exactly that same way in death. Example: A murderer who has died, will still want to do murder after death.
