The title says it all to avoid the youtube sensors ... They especially want to ban the long black shovels... I have spent some time fishing in Canada out in the northern boonies.. We flew in (private aircraft and the transferred to a float plane) and I brought a weapon as did several others... so screw Canada and their city dwelling stupidity... Time frame was early 80s

Is it a coincidence that the Ames shovel was the first tool baned in the 13 British colonies. I was made locally, so they did not like not making as big a profit on them.

Banning shovels is just as logical as banning what that video is actually referring to. Just because you are kind of safe in the cities from wildlife dosent mean you don't need protection in the rest of your country.

Its not ok, that he even had to make that video.

Getting banned just for saying or showing GUN?

We have to stop this BS.

Yeah, YouTube has got people calling GUNS shovels. You wouldn't believe the gymnastics YouTubers perform to comply with their insane T&C's.

It's sad because those that have relied on YouTube as a career, are made to self censor to make a living. Whether the YouTubers know how to do something else or not, they seem to willingly consent to YouTube openly violating, (because they can), Amendments 1, 2, 4, and 5.

Kinda prostitute-ish.

Is YouTube money that good?

I am not certain it is YouTube making the policy. There are several YouTube gun channels that I enjoy. I think the Canadian government might say something about the videos that are against their banning of these shovels. They may have more pull with YouTube then they admit.

Like many things...it depends. YT in and of itself isn't very good monetarily, but there are people who make metric sh!t tons of money off of YT...IF they have the right recipe. YT is the monetary mechanism, but people need other social media to drive that monetary element of YT. Things like insta, FB, TT, patreon, (and others).

It's an interesting study in how a successful model works. The other, non-YT platforms, attract specific types of followers. Those followers drive the monetary element on YT. It took me a while to wrap my head around how the patreon angle fit into all of this, but now I sort of get it. Patreon is like a living GFM account with rolling causes. But patreon gets used not only for money, but also for early viewer access which requires a following on YT first. Once a content producer has a loyal following on YT, they can then use patreon to give fans early access to content not yet available on YT. Kind of like an insider's club. But people have to pay for this. After that, revenue comes in on YT via the advertising.

The reason people are so whorish on YT is not so much because of YT censoring their videos as much as the fear of having their videos de-monetized and/or having their monetized accounts suspended.

And yes, it is VERY "prostitute-ish"!

That's an interesting answer. I've often wondered how people seem to be supporting themselves on YT. Clayton Morris and his wife have the YT Channel, Redacted. He's a former Fox News personality. They seem to be trying to enrich themselves on YT although, from what I've seen their numbers aren't all that impressive. But in the constant chase of the dollar, they've definitely lowered the bar, opting for click-bait type headers, shock headlines while rarely delivering on what's advertised.

I've found that so many channels now have adopted this approach that I just gloss over most of what YT has to offer.

And of those channels you frequent, do any of the content creators call firearms something else so they can stay "monetized"? I watch plenty of firearm related content and a few of them use code words for guns. It's sheer stupidity.

But this is what you get when you set the tone that men aren't men and women aren't women. Other things inherently become asinine as well.

Thanks for the insight.

Personally, I think YouTube has a much darker agenda. That being, to promote the Seven Deadly Sins!

Sounds crazy, right?? Then correct me if the content creators aren't pushing these things:

1. Gluttony
2. Wrath
3. Lust
4. Greed
5. Pride
6. Sloth
7. Envy

24/7, 365, all the time... non-stop.
