I have been doing Feng Shui for years. Feng Shui means “wind water” in English. Wind moving over water is the perfect Feng Shui!

Feng Shui Is the pursuit of harmony and balance. It’s living with a clean flowing energy. It feels amazing. It’s a pure balance of the five elements. Fire, Wood, Metal, Earth and Water.

You want to live in an atmosphere that welcomes in great energy. I truly believe energy is one of the most important factors in life.

Water: The water element represents good fortune and abundance in all areas and how well it flows and circulates in your life. You can add the water element to your interior design by including water-like tones including navy and blue, soft or curved edges, and wavy lines in artwork or furniture.

Metal: The metal element represents simplicity, clarity, and precision and holds both yin and yang characteristics depending on the metal choice. To add more metal touches to your home, consider metal photo frames, mirrors, or metal furniture (in your home office, for example).

Fire: The fire element is responsible for activating energy. It can represent passion and creativity and is often associated with bright colours found in décor with sharp edges, home lighting and artwork. With too much fire energy in your home, you can become restless; with too little fire energy, you can feel stuck and stagnant.

Wood: The wood element is associated with kindness and vitality and can represent new life. When we think of wood we think of nature: greens, browns, and teal. Adding more wood elements to your home can be as simple as adding indoor plants, wooden furniture, or using wooden materials in your home design.

Earth: The earth element is said to represent stability, health and grounding. Mostly calming in nature, the earth element is also known as the ‘centre of life. ****To incorporate the earth element into your home design, you can furnish your space with items made from natural materials, include earthy hues such as yellows and browns, or introduce more square-shaped objects.

For me my energy flows with less clutter in my space. A clear path to your doorway lets energy flow. I clear my desk area daily for the next day of energy.

My furniture flows. I have spaced out seats facing each other. You want energy to mesh with other energy and to not be turned away.

If anyone has their own Feng Shui please share.

not sure if it's the same thing, but understanding that everything moves like water helps to work WITH your surroundings and not AGAINST them. The flow is going to flow, no matter how you might disagree. Might as well embrace it, and find a way to enjoy what's there. That, and knowing you know nothing. (I got that from Bill and Ted)

I'm a big beliver in Shue.

Flow, energy, the whole nine.

Our workspace is primarily wood, metal, air and water as my husband and I are both fire signs.

I never studied feng shur formally, different schools have different philosophies, but we work with what we have and maximize the shue to it's utmost.

We live with my husbands parents, and my wonderful Mother in Law is a bit cluttered, but she knows where everything in in the chaos....meanwhile my husband and I are neat freaks, but we've only been here a year and I'm working on getting the odds and ends of our own clutter in it's proper place.

It's less space than we used to have (we occupy the den and the guest room) but we're getting there.

One day at a time as finances allow.

I love Feng Shui, I follow the BaGua (spelling) 'system', it suits me better than the 5 elements even though they are incorporated into it, but in a simple way.
Being a Clinical Aromatherapist and dowser, I will sometimes dowse the energy of one of my rooms and allow the pendulum/dowser to select the appropriate essential oil to clear and energise the space through diffusing. Mind you, I have also been know to sprinkle Juniper Berry essential oil around my therapy room to clear negative energies!

Most welcome, but don't be sprinkling it around any pets unless they have an escape route.
Same goes if you decide to diffuse it in a room.

Spent several years in Asia and SE Asia, and there's some people who are crazy-into the whole Feng Shui thing. In fact, the Chinese lady I leased the condo I lived in from in Malaysia was hardcore Feng Shui. I got like a crash course in the system on my first day in the joint!

I walked in the place and all the lights were on, so as we're walking around I started shutting them off. This old Chinese gal would run over and turn them back on again..."NO, NO, NO!! I 'on' the light for you to chase evil spirit away! Must leave light on!!."

The curtains were closed, so I went to open them to look out of the balcony. She dashed over and shut them like there was a fire outside! "NO, NO, NO!! Must open this curtain first, bad Feng Shui you open that curtain before this one!!"

The place was huge (and beautiful); marble floors, leather everything, even had a maid quarters like almost another whole living space (which she had to show me). There was a hose hooked to a faucet going all the way around the room. "Water must go around room this way, not dat way; if it go that way...very bad!!!

The best one was...the complex management assigned me a parking place in the garage under the building. The space number was #44. Oh my gawd, when she found that out she drove all the way across the city to raise holy hell with the managment over that. "How DARE you curse me, and you curse my customer!! I come after you!! You assign different number right now...RIGHT NOW!!". The number "4" is very bad luck in Asia. It's like the number "13" in the west. No buildings have a 4th floor, and if they do it's usually un-numbered, no elevators will stop on it, and it's used for other things not habitation. The number "44" was like DOOM-squared to this gal!! OMG, I thought she was going to have a stroke over that one, veins popping out on her forhead and a complete meltdown.

I read somewhere in numberology that 4 is the Number of Man.

Take from that what you will.

Haha! Take it you have tried it then

You don't need much..... you are using the 'vibration' of the oil to remove negative energies and even entities. Gorgeous in a diffuser when it's warmed up.
