Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) denounced efforts by House Republicans to bar transgender people from restrooms in the Capitol that match their gender identity, calling policies put forward this week by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) “disgusting.”

“What Nancy Mace and what Speaker Johnson are doing are endangering all women and girls,” Ocasio-Cortez told reporters late Wednesday. “Because if you ask them, ‘What is your plan on how to enforce this?’ they won’t come up with an answer.

And what it inevitably results in, are women and girls who are primed for assault, because people are gonna want to check their private parts in suspecting who is trans and who is cis, and who’s doing what.”

Does AOC have a valid concern here? I get confused with what the various gender classifications are and what they mean. Is she implying that a man with a wig will come into the ladies room to inspect "private parts", and go too far?

She can't even make a coherent sentence and her argument makes no sense.
Anyone can spot a female in a men's toilet without checking their private parts and the same of course the other way round.
Girls in men's toilets are at danger and men in women's spaces are a danger. Especially those who don't even make an effort.
It's pretty clear cut and straight forward.
I have no idea what she is talking about.

easy just use the old TSA backscatter body scanners. i'm sure there are a few left in a warehouse somewhere.

Why is this even an issue. Simply renovate the restrooms to be single occupant completely or shared sink areas with private locking stalls. No mens and woman's rooms at all. Funny that all the officials in government already have their own private facilities in their offices but they bring it up ànyway.

Just another thing for government to spend money on. They thank hey can prin as much as they want you know.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is returning to what she used to talk about so frequently. Sex and violence combined, or just plain sexual attraction subjects.

according to snopes, tsa said it took to long and slowed down check in. but reading between the lines it was the ones crying about being digital strip searches.

but if you look at the images in the link, neither the new Millimeter-wave one or the back scatter reveal enough of a recognizable image of the person to embarrass any one. just hook up a alarm and directional exit to the correct restroom.

I thank they could not see guns, knives, bombs, etc. taped to the sides of a person. I remember seeing a video where a guy had a hunting knife on one side and a gun on the other. Could see the body but not the weapons. The were programmed for a human shape and did no see anything beyond what was in front of or behind a body. They ignored the sides.

If I were alone in a room with her, I would not be able to controll my laughing at her stupidity. Especially if she actually said anything.

That is her best defence in that situation.

She is just playing the victim.

Don't most people have the same things under their clothes. TSA people see thousands of passengers per week. Everyone thinks they're so special when we're all pretty much the same.

That's a great reason for getting rid of those scanners! Naturally, the terrorists would know how easy it is to evade those scans. Thankyou.

AOC's prolific interviews and event attendance, perfectly illustrates why our Congress needs to work more than 119 days @ calendar year. She has way too much free time. There were videos of AOC and a few other members of Congress in Greece, having a good time during their last vacation which lasted almost 50 days! (Sept 26th to Nov 12th)

(I'm petitioning hard on forums to get Congress working at least 250 days @ year to make MAGA-PAF maximally effective with Trump at the helm.)
