Those stones have always looked more molded than cut and shaped. The fitting is too ridiculously precise using random angles for them to be carved stones. I believe we are missing something important here about their construction.

Other folks did such stone working, i.imgur.com... for smaller stones they may have used this method:Inca polygonal masonry, stone working lugs, he two ways: Measure: i.imgur.com... scale: i.imgur.com... reproduce: i.imgur.com... this would work with smaller stones,

Larger stones: i.imgur.com... i.imgur.com... i.imgur.com... i.imgur.com... i.imgur.com... i.imgur.com... i.imgur.com...

Let me back up after coming off like an asshole and say first I
have a deep admiration for what academics of your calibur do
in the field of archaeology. My approach was all wrong and lacked
the respect for all the time education and work it takes to bring
knowledge of the far gone past to the world. And I do appreciate
it.

I had a really good ancient history teacher in the seventh grade
who made me want to do what you do. But circumstances only
allowed me the opportunity of ironworker lol. Anyway I think our
disagreement has more to do with our far different world
views than anything else and will never see eye to eye. I also
understand how it would be if you showed up on a jobsite and
started telling me how to hang iron.

All that to say thanks for sharing and providing the pics.
And keep up the excellent work. Going forward I'll try to
be more mindful of how I come off. Happy Holidays

Ancients carved beautiful statues out of stone. Why not blocks?

It seems far from impossible based on other things ancients built out of stone. The question is why would they spend so much time and labor?
