Florida sued the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) director and an employee who was fired for telling a survivor assistance team after Hurricane Milton not to visit homes displaying signs supporting President-elect Trump’s candidacy.
Ashley Moody, the state’s Republican attorney general, alleged FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell “agreed” to deny Trump supporters relief alongside the terminated employee, Marn’i Washington.
“While the facts will continue to come out over the weeks and months, it is already clear that Defendant Washington conspired with senior FEMA officials, as well as those carrying out her orders, to violate the civil rights of Florida citizens,” reads the complaint.

Wow I just read this in the news, it was expected, the law sues are going to start flying, I have never been a fan of Fema as they has become liberal idiots following liberal rules set by the biden administration.
The North Carolina hurricane fiasco made it clear they are full of crap.
It was more to just one fema worker acting stupid, the whole fema needs to be disbanded and start all over again.
FEMA's administrator on employee misconduct, Deanne Criswell, confirmed to Fox News Digital over the weekend that the supervisor was fired and that her actions were "reprehensible."
Another FEMA spokesperson told Fox that Washington’s actions were an "isolated incident."
However, Washington insisted that’s not true. In response to Fox News host Trace Gallagher asking, "So you're telling me these orders came from somebody above?," she said, "Correct."
The former FEMA employee alleged that the Florida team had already been avoiding Trump voters’ homes prior to her work there. "This was the culture. They were already avoiding these homes based on community trends from hostile political encounters. It has nothing to do with the campaign sign. It just so happened to be part of the community trend," Washington explained.

So the Miami Herald has a good article here.

The reasoning for skipping seem a bit weak. I can certainly imagine that FEMA workers have been accosted by people. But they should figure out a better policy to deal with this. Maybe assign an officer with FEMA workers as they canvas an area. Getting disaster relief out to everyone is important.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man and charged him with going armed to the terror of the public after security threats prompted a pause in some FEMA operations around western North Carolina.
William Jacob Parsons, 44, from Bostic was arrested after dispatchers were told a white male was holding an assault rifle and making comments about harming FEMA employees.
Parsons has been released on a $10,000 secured bond; deputies said he was armed with a handgun and a rifle.
An inspection agency that works as a contractor for the Federal Emergency Management Agency ordered its employees in western North Carolina to cease inspections over the weekend and return to hotels, WBTV confirmed late Sunday night.
a contracting agency? There is an inkling to the waste. If they are contracting outsiders for inspections why have fema in the first place? We would assume a federal agency like fema would need highly trained and vetted professionals working for them, but instead they outsource? I wonder who that agency gives $$$ to?
Messages that WBTV has reviewed, sent to employees of a contracting agency that works with FEMA for inspections, appear to show an impact area across western North Carolina.
