Hell, I was as apolitical as you, till the riots and chaos hit our business hard, then the OVER BEARING COVID response, have said numerous times here and elsewhere it killed our 40-plus-year-old family business.

You can say we didn't plan well, or we didn't know how to run the business or we would have survived better, as Ive been told also. My father's business model worked for 40 years and it took a once-in-a-century pandemic and GOVERNMENT overreaction and regulation to knock it to its knees

and still, if we just get 3-4 good years we will be more than fine.

But I have to ask are you renouncing your American citizenship? Will you file taxes in Canada or America? are you going to file to live permanently in Canada? I don't know but as I sit here in my shorts and tee shirt on my small back deck in the sun and mid-60s it's difficult to find 4 degrees Celsius currently in Toronto appealing. I'm thinking for me its Belize if I ever leave but more likely the North Georgia mountains

Our population finally grew in 2023 after 3 years of decline. I'm glad we are back #1 on the grass is greener transplant state list. Our economy does better with new residents to tax. 90% wanting to leave the country will quickly find it's easier to be the 80% to another state.

I think this may be an indicator of where people might escape, with the black/red shaded states most likely to have voter or legislature passed (SCOTUS upheld) religion-based laws. Like retaining a near total ban, or Arkansas-like bibles in the classroom, and whatever will follow.



I think those actually moving, who follow through, will choose an interstate move over international, and likely be around 5% of the population. Or give it a month and do the poll again.

Other countries might not be so welcoming. Even denying citizenship. Like for those saying Canada, I would guess the French speaking parts (Quebec) would be more politically sympathetic than the English speaking working class farming and oil production parts of the country (Alberta).
