Hi ATS,

Now that President-Elect, Donald J. Trump is safely ensconced in the halls of power prior to his inauguration in January, we pray that he will stay safe throughout that time period & beyond, he is definitely what America needs for its healing at this time.

I thought I'd share with you a traditional 'wild, weird & wonky' conspiracy theory, just for fun, some classic ATS fare for your viewing pleasure.

The following video is made by a lady who has strong Christian beliefs, and certain beliefs about the nature of our solar system. Now, I'm with her on the Christianity, but her views on the nature of the solar system are just plain wrong, though she's certainly uncovered a head-scratcher of a mystery which needs to be looked into by our nascent investigative team here on ATS. The video was made & uploaded in 2018, for reference.

Throughout the video, created by cropping from Alaskan weather camera feeds, two things become apparent. Firstly, there are what appear to be large spheres 'behind the sky', which, after careful observation, can be seen to be of definite physical nature, with physical features which are seen to rotate about a central axis (North-South) as the object/s traverse the skies (behind the skies) in the frame. Secondly, there is seen to be something obscuring the Sun disc, something like a black spot, which on careful consideration cannot be a lens artifact, because it travels with the Sun & actually is reflected in the waters below the sun as it traverses the skies. If it is reflected in the water, it is a real object in front of the Sun, and not a lens artifact, which would NOT reflect in the waters below.

So... What is going on here? Well for my money, we're getting a glimpse behind the curtain, seeing through the skies in the far North, observing something of the celestial mechanics which makes our world possible, though what these things are & how they work is far beyond me. I had a dream a few years ago, when the Flat Earth information was coming out & getting more & more traction, just before I too started to believe in it, in which God spoke to me & told me to purchase a silver ring with an emerald set within it, a symbol of the system of the Earth & Heavens. He told me that while one is living within the System, it is impossible to fully understand the System, and there will always be things that you have to accept on a faith basis, in which matters you must trust in Him, and not be tied down to the impossible quest, to fully understand everything laid before us in this strange, complex, beautiful world...

..Then you will find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3: 4-6

Thoughts?

FITO.

PS - Huzzah for President-Elect Donald J Trump; from an Englishman across the Atlantic.. Praise God for his victory; bless every man & woman around him in their honorable service to the nation.

So fascinating. Was this around the same time that Hawaiian named celestial object entered our solar system, reduced its speed, and even changed trajectory ? All while just being a normal space rock, allegedly?

I think it was around that time yes.

Interestingly I uncovered a conspiracy regarding Oamuamua, in that the director of the Hollywood film 'Arrival' (which was excellent sci-fi) claimed after the fact that he had been inspired to create the film when he learned of the Oamuamua object. I realised that could not have been the case, because the film was made in 2016, and the object was not first reported until late 2017 at the earliest, possibly early 2018.

So what did the director know, and when? Did he inherit the mantle from Stanley Kubrick?

Well that is interesting. I have Arrival on Blu-ray, excellent modern sci-fi that combines, aliens and time travel. It was so cool that they were helping us now, so that we can help them in the future. Total mind# that was.

I only watched the first minute and only saw lens flares and overloaded sensors (the black spot), nothing special.

The most likely possibilities are:
- He made a mistake;
- He lied.

Did you see my thread about the expedition to Antarctica next month by flat earthers and globers to investigate the nature of our place in the solar system?
The Final Experiment is Scheduled for December 2024. Will it Finally Answer the Question?

though she's certainly uncovered a head-scratcher of a mystery which needs to be looked into by our nascent investigative team here on ATS.
Everything about photography is apparently a mystery to this woman, she seems to know nothing about the subject.

I guess you don't know anything about photography either.

All the reasons you and the video author are giving why it can't be lens flare do not rule out lens flare.
-She says clouds can't cover up lens flare, well if clouds move into the area, they can block the source of the lens flare, which is usually the sun. So the cloud doesn't cover the lens flare, but it can cover the sun, the source of the lens flare. Also it may be difficult to tell if a semi-transparent lens flare is still there or not when it occupies the same spot on the image as a cloud. The cloud may just be a lot easier to see and it could make the lens flare hard to see even if it's still there.

-The black spot isn't lens flare, it's the sun, that's how this camera deals with getting direct exposure to the sun.

-The triangle is bokeh lens flare, which can come and go depending on how the sun moves with respect to the fixed position of the camera determining whether it casts a reflection in the lens or not.

-The example she shows where the scene is bright, then it suddenly gets a lot dimmer, really highlights her ignorance of cameras, when she says the only thing that can cause that is an eclipse, which is not true. Cameras often have automatic exposure control so all that needs to happen for a scene to get dark is for the sun to move across the sky into a position where it can tell the camera's exposure sensor the scene is too bright, then the automatic exposure control will make the scene darker.

Cameras with a triangular aperture can make triangular artifacts. Here's what a triangular aperture in a lens looks like, and some out of focus lights at night photographed with such a lens all look like triangles, but they aren't really triangles, it's called bokeh:

That scene darkening effect, I see all the time when people make streaming videos inside, aiming their smartphones at themselves. Exposure looks normal, until they go into a room with a window behind them, and suddenly the bright scene outside the window causes the scene to appear dark inside the room. This is called "backlighting". Some cameras have settings to adjust or compensate for this.

I had a dream a few years ago, when the Flat Earth information was coming out & getting more & more traction, just before I too started to believe in it, in which God spoke to me & told me to purchase a silver ring with an emerald set within it, a symbol of the system of the Earth & Heavens. You don't have to accept the shape of the earth on a faith basis after the expedition to Antarctica next month. You can go with them if you want, and see for yourself, that first you actually can go to antarctica, and second, whether the sun behaves like the globe model predicts, or like the flat earth model predicts. Several people are setting up "gofundme" accounts to fund their places in the expedition to see it for themselves. I think they leave in about 5 weeks.

In my experience, whenever somebody posts a photo or video, and says "What is this? It's NOT lens flare", 9 times out of 10, it's lens flare, and we find out that the reasons given for excluding lens flare don't actually exclude lens flare.

The more elements in the lens, the more lens flares we can see. This is one of my favorite lens flare photos, with multiple lens flares in the same image:

The problem with many people today is that they appear to think that they have all the knowledge possible, so if they do not know something it must be impossible.
And they are so convinced they are right that they make videos about it to post on YouTube.

How does an overloaded sensor reflect in the waters beneath the Sun?

Thanks man, I appreciate the kudos. For what it's worth I don't buy the explanations being posted by camera guy & ArMap, but they won't listen to my reasoning because they're such damn experts at photography, whereas I freely admit I know nothing about photography. But there are several things in the Alaska footage that are NOT squared away by their explanations, and that 'favourite lens flare' photo was laughable it was so far wrong compared to what I actually described as occurring in the film footage.

Here's an image that goes some way to describing what I think is actually going on here:

I had an extremely vivid series of dreams last year in which I think I saw one of those mighty spheres rotating & vibrating with immense, indescribable divine power. The dream actually repeated in exactly the same way the second night, which was remarkable, as I never experience repetition in my dreaming experiences, even though I have dreamed vividly every night for the past forty years. I have started to come around to the idea that those mighty spheres are actual stars, a form of angel in the Heavenly realms named 'Ophanim'.

I have started to wonder whether the image above shows us the Ophanim in their courses behind the skies, IE the firmament, into which their images are projected as a hologram, marking the times & seasons in their correct courses, as described in Scripture. Some of these Ophanim apparently rebelled & were cast down into darkness by God because they refused to stay in their courses, despite being provided with the divine life & joy of Heaven in their role, communing with God, shining forever as part of His kingdom. Those that rebelled are described in the Book of 1 Enoch (not many of them rebelled, as the rest were fully aware of how good they had it basically). In the background behind the firmament, the Ophanim circle around in vast open channels; in the firmament, their projected image seems smaller, and it is only seen twinkling through "the waters above" beyond the firmament, which can be seen more clearly when using a P900 or P1000 camera. The incredible zoom function on those beauties is just about the only thing I know about photography - and it's remarkably useful as a standalone feature for certain specific tasks!

Why don't you buy a cheap telescope and have a look for yourself?

Like, do your own research?

I live west of fairbanks, seen a few odd things though I didnt see this one.

Like a NOAA research location lit up in the middle of the night with spot lights pointing up, guards armed at a gate I never saw people before carrying M-4's (I think), and as I was passing about 0300 I saw dark SUV's pulling in.

some weird stuff going on up here.

How does an overloaded sensor reflect in the waters beneath the Sun?

It's not the overloaded sensor that is reflected, it's the Sun, and if the reflection is as bright as the real Sun then the sensor will also be overloaded by the reflected light.
Usually, the reflection is slightly less bright, so the overloaded area is slightly smaller, like we see on the video.

ā€œA lens flare canā€™t be covered up by the clouds?ā€

Ok. But the intensity of the sun creating the lens flare can muted or blocked by the clouds.
