Pentagon announces new military aid package for Ukraine

Well, looks like we no longer need Congress to approve spending packages for Ukraine. We just announce it with no debate, no discussion, and little fanfare.

So at the direction of the President [Biden – ed.], the United States will continue to surge security assistance to Ukraine, and so will our allies and partners in the Ukraine Defence Contact Group. That includes artillery and air defence, armoured vehicles, munitions and other crucial capabilities. The United States will announce additional security assistance for Ukraine in the coming days.

"At Biden's direction" Yeah, that's the ticket. Biden said to do it. After careful consideration, and probably after consulting the smartest man he knows, Biden made the decision to bypass Congress and send the package to Ukraine. So much for "preserving our democracy."

But there's more to come ...

Later, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also revealed that the US is preparing a further US$800 million package to finance the production of drones within Ukraine.

So, it's no longer just supplying "outdated" arms and ammunition. Now we're giving Ukraine cash so they can build their own drones. Surely that money will be used to build drones, and won't mysteriously disappear into some black hole.

Regardless of how you feel about getting involved in someone else's war on the other side of the globe, how do you feel about the POTUS deciding to give another country over a billion dollars to continue that war? Who gave the President the authority to arbitrarily make this decision without Congressional approval? If the President can do this, why did we need Congress to allocate the money last time?

And yet when Americans lose their homes because of a natural disaster, the best FEMA can come up with is $750.

Raytheon is running the DOD.

I'd be willing to bet that they and their other friendly defense contractors are the ones who will be manufacturing the drones in Ukraine.

1.2 billion in the last 30 days. This is the final push. They need to move as much money as possible because they know what is coming.

The current administration makes me sick.

Wait we are giving them money to build drones? Who is gonna be building them? Lots of money to secrete away. So we give Ukraine money to build drones, those sites become military targets, get bombed and we send money to start the process all over again? Am I reading this correctly?

Spending, sending taxpayer money overseas without congressional approval is the antithesis of how our republic is meant to function.
We have very weak leadership in every facet of government. We have people who serve themselves and special interests before even considering serving the people.
We need to do better at who we elect!
Elect those who manipulate the system for the people's favor as opposed to those who game the system to pad their bank accounts.
Because the system does what systems do and it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

The supreme court had said that presidents have immunity while doing their jobs and now he can do whatever he wants to, so it looks like everything is functioning as they had intended. Nothing to see here. Carry on.

Zelensky needs his holiday package, Christmas gift shopping is no cheap, American taxpayers should be soo proud, I know Zelensky's wife will show her gratitude, while in Paris.

The current administration makes me and my family on the verge of homelessness …and that’s with my wife and I employed.

Wait..is this the war that we have less footage of in 3 years than we did of the Gulf wars, (before anyone had cell phones) in 1 day?

The money going over there is the money funing the WHO, the WEF, and to support the organizations that are going bankrupt pushing woke policies so that they can continue to double down on them.

Except this is not one of those jobs. They can try and make that claim, but who has the power of the purse again? So it does not fall under his "job" by any means.

Yea with all the "safeguards" of all the other Ukraine aid. We've seen this play out before. Not reassuring at all.

That war has been going on for over a year. Where is the unforeseen emergency you mention?

I don't see that applying after the first month.
