I am not an American, but I believe that countries are fairly arbitrary. The idea that a location classifies ideology and morality is false. Most of these things are universal to the human condition, regardless to the point on the globe those people happen to inhabit.

The things that are most important to me, that can be affected by poor political choices, are of primary concern over who gets my vote. These are:

1. Being alive. This is of primary importance for me, my loved ones, and my community. Any threat to that either from political process or ideology, or by negligence, or by putting something else above it in priority, is of my primary concern. A politician or ideological group who would compromise, or drop the ball on something as important as this, even once, will never get my vote.

2. Health and wellbeing. This relates to point 1. Similarly, I require that this includes my loved ones, and my community, I want for them what I would want for myself. Someone who would skimp on care for the unwell is, in my opinion, morally equivalent to someone who would torture. Someone who spends time blaming the unwell for their maladies is just searching for excuses to avoid their duty to care as citizens, and would never get my vote.

3. Economic stability and assurance. I do not really care if I, or my loved ones, and community, are wealthy, but I do care if we are lacking in necessities, and are in a position of unserviceable debt. I would happily use any surplus I have to financially protect those I love and care for, even if their debt was due to their own poor choices. Their life and wellbeing is of greater value to me than their, or my, bank balance. Any system that values currency over humanity is ultimately going to result in evil being done and condoned. Anyone who is conspicuously wealthy with no sign of true charity, will never get my vote. Anyone who uses their wealth to suborn others will never get my vote.

With SEVEN DAYS TO ELECTION DAY (Tuesday Nov 5th 2024), a question for ATS members.

In general what do you consider Most important, 2nd most important, 3rd most important, etc., when choosing who to vote for?

Is your top priority to vote for the person whom you feel will benefit your immediate family, or is your top priority more generalized...like World Peace, or Climate Change, or Protecting Allies, etc.??

For YOURS TRULY (WeMustCare), the Economy is generally #1, followed by appointing Conservative Justices as #2. Those two items drive 80% of my decision. The other 20% is comprised of less important items that change from election to election. (Taxes, Healthcare, Swamp Draining, etc..)

WHAT ABOUT YOU? Care to share your general priorities when determining who to vote for, for President or any other elected office?

-WeMustCare 😎

Economy (budget management, revitalizing small business, reducing dependency on foreign trade, domestic resource optimization for stronger internal GDP, more jobs and better wages and benefits for our citizens)

Security (border and law enforcement)

Liberty (personal medical autonomy including reproductive health)

Truth/transparency (a stern restructuring of DOJ and FBI and their insidious relationship with media)

W̶o̶r̶l̶d̶ ̶p̶e̶a̶c̶e̶ Americans first, in every regard, because that's POTUS constitutional and ethical priority

In that order.

I'll remember that the next time you post your bigoted anti-American dogma.

I don't dislike all things American. I am against people who believe that their location, or the location of their ancestry, makes them better than others and who mistreat others as if it were their right.

Caucasian North American nationalistic oppression of 'others' is fairly disgusting, considering that their peoples are from all over the world, and their land mass is crossed by several borders, and that they have even severely mistreated (and continue to do so) their own native populations.

American racism is more numerous and extreme than in just about any other modern country.

Some Americans seem to believe that their country, that incarcerates more of its own citizens (on a per capita and total numbers basis), is some sort of pinnacle of freedom in the world, and that they have a right to wage wars and 'police' other countries.

America is the only country that have used nuclear weapons against civilians, and they have done so several times.

America steals the wealth, work, and intellectual properties of other countries, yet every time it is bested by another country technologically, it claims that they have 'stolen' American technology to do so.

Here's a handy guide for the undecided courtesy of Elon -

Elon Musk is a major enemy of mentally unbalanced Democrats at the moment. He says its a badge of honor. (Where have I heard that before?)

A stronger economy and the preservation of our freedoms.

Democrats are awful for both, so I'll be voting Trump.

And, for the first time, I am going to vote a straight Republican ticket.

I'm a libertarian on most issues. Unfortunately, at the national level the Libertarian party is a joke and their candidates are usually awful. But in every election, I study my state and local races and choose the candidate that most aligns with my views, which is occasionally a Democrat or some other party in down-ballot races.

Democrats have become so extreme I can't justify voting for anyone with a D next to their name this time.

The Democrat "ground game" is becoming annoying. Even if I were a Democrat, I'd be offended by the variety and frequency of their contacts as we get closer to election day, followed by silence over the next 2 or 4 years. They must harvest voter data from some place, and have no discipline with using it.

RENT and GROCERIES are tied to the party in power. The other items are more under individual control living day-to-day, don't you think?

I was thinking the same thing earlier today. They've been harassing me so bad this cycle, even if I was a Democrat I don't think I'd vote for them this time just out of annoyance. I've done it to companies before. Even if I like their stuff, if they bother me too much, they get the axe.
