This posted 2 times. Odd

One childish thought,
Came screaming around the dark.

I saw a pink moon behind you,
There you are such a miracle to be woke.

There is always a yellow road around you,
You have never been alone blowing all this smoke.

You found the tin can at midnight,
Aimless as you stand, never in the sand.

The lion of love fits you like a glove,
Harmless of fear, just for this year.

As Toto was Tito the wine of youth,
My darling never told the truth.

As I lie in the field searching for my last meal,
The scarecrow of truth closed the deal.

As I clicked my glass shoes,
I heard the great news.

To lie awake endless in my sleep,
Not hearing a peep.

As I made my way to the UFO,
It started to echo.

It was not just a road but the yellow brick road…

The signs on the road were all reading
''Take the yellow brick road which is leading
Up the hill to the ship''
Where the aliens dip
All the humans in broth before eating.

The image you presented is compelling, so, noir. Did you do it?

Also, in finding your reply this morning I also saw that the final line in that limerick should have read, instead of eating, read ''feeding''.

The picture reminds me of the 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica circa 1977.

Decisions:
The balloon to Omaha has left.
Shoes and wishes to Kansas?
Ahh, been there, done that.

Where may that ship be off to?
Hmm, let's go see.

That is funny, I lived in Santa Monica for 10 years and yes it does look like it!

At least it not Venice Beach on the board walk! I am sure the ufo is going to collect people in Venice lol.

Omaha has good steaks! Haha

I woke up early this morning and flipped on TCM and found one of those old blakc and white flicks from the early thirties that sets the scene with a misty scape that brought that picture to mind. Very similar effect on my senses.

That is so cool. I found a 1930 photo of LA for you!

It’s amazing and odd!

Yes yes, perfect. That sense of mystery down the road, the who knows what we will find in the distance. Murky. The transporting the viewer from this real world to the fictional ''could be''.

As with your stanzas there is a decided uncertainty in the drawing. The maybe blimp or maybe rocket, the maybe moon or maybe portal from another realm. And in the end of walking towards the mystery, the road, is not just a road but rather the always trusted yellow brick road. Not paved or blacktopped but brick, each put in place with care and that makes it trustworthy.

Perfectly said! You really have a good eye for gland brain for seeing things in a different light! Nice!

Gripping, JJ!

Excellent adaptation of the famous story... one of my childhood favourites.
