Asking because I am curious being my dad lives in florida he has an umbrella policy.

But the storm itself didnt damage his house, while the water management district drained water into the rural area he lives in and it flooded his house.

How the heck does that work?

Does the insurance still cover it, is the water management district liable, is he just screwed?

It’s best for him to call his insurance company first and go from there.
The second call could be a lawyer.

I’ve heard of people that had their homes destroyed by the tidal surge and the insurance companies said that they had hurricane insurance not flood insurance.

The best bet is to spill kerosene while “filling your heater if you get my drift…😂✌️

Guess I should say they opened the gates which pushed a river that is miles from him to 26 feet overflood stage and that lead to the flooding.

Im sure they will say how could we know.
