Conservatives and liberals have different brain structures

Speaking of which...Wife and I were driving MIL and FIL to the airport. We get to the Airport and park; I pull my .45 out of its holster and stick it in the center console along with (2) mags and locked it up. (don't want to be going inside an airport with a pistol, bad idea!)

MIL has a panic-spaz attack..."Is that a, a, gun??? That's a big gun isn't it??? (GASP!)". FIL can't miss out on the opportunity either..."Do you always take a gun when you come here? Why don't you take it other places too???"

Not sure if he thought I was trying to impress him or what. As I got out of the car to assist them with their luggage, I calmly said..."I do take it everywhere. Every single day. I've had my pistol on me for the past 2 weeks that y'all have been visiting."

"Wha...wha...why didn't you tell us???, says MIL (with another couple GASPS).

"Why would I tell you, or anyone else??...unless of course if I was trying to impress someone, which I most certainly am not.".

This was years ago, but I'll never forget it. Their grandson came out of the Marine Corps and became a State Trooper. They learned I had been a firearms instructor for nearly 25+ years before even meeting them. They got used to seeing firearms after a while, even welcomed the notion of the added safety.

To the point of the OP, yes, some people are just wired differently. MIL and FIL lived in a liberal city where everything was illegal. They were conditioned to believe guns = gangsters = illegal. The concept of firearms protecting them from armed evil doers was outside their mindset.

Interesting how that works.

The main thing I see driving a wedge between Liberals and Conservatives is Abortion . If not for the Abortion issue I know of many many many Democrat voters that would vote Republican.

Now as for the True believer Leftist and Conservatives . The main difference is Leftist prefer that other people do their thinking for them and Conservatives Like to think for themselves.

Too many people I think and this isn't me being mean but too many people are real good at faking "being normal" and hiding sometimes SEVERE cognitive deficits. I grew up in Alaska, Florida, and Kentucky.

Everyone in Alaska had a gun in the car because grizzlies and moose are mean. Car breaks down and you need it.

Florida everyone had them, cause you’re always goin fishing

Eastern Kentucky everyone had them over their beds or in a gun rack, or in their truck window. Seeing a gun was like seeing a hammer or crowbar, a useful tool you see in every house or vehicle.

In Alaska and Kentucky we shot in the back yard. I shot a Lot, but preferred bow and probably put more hours on it. Avoided the shotguns and .308 long rifles as I didn’t like the kick, but I did shoot them occasionally. Plinking with 22’s was fun and the ammo cheaper. Started with bb and pellet when I was age 6 or so. Loved my M16 in the Army as it was very accurate and had so little kick… the 22’s big brother. Had to clean it a lot more though.

But I’m a country boy not a high falutin’ city goer.

Being scared of guns is something I cannot understand. It’s like bein scared of a fishing pole.

This isn’t a shock and you go and try to tell someone with a deviated brain structure that they're not firing on all cylinders and see what happens. You ever hear of the story of the old lady that had a monkey as a pet and it ripped her arms off and beat her sinless?

I would say music and art are a big brain thing but that would be "left" brain, Hmmmm..

Also worth noting, music talent might be a place to say genius if the people like a John Legend aren't a dime a dozen. Living in Memphis and Nashville these places are crawling with real musical genius needing a label and they truly are a dime a dozen.

The labels normally pick these cute people like the Judds or Taylor Swift that are sexy. The labels often do that over other guys like that Rich Men North of Richmond singer with real talent. He also doesn't play along with the narrative the rich elite and their sycophant media puppets are selling us 24/7 and these others will we do get to hear and go to their big productions.

For sure, musical genius is in the ear of the beholder, but vibrations are hypnotic and only certain ones will make you "feel good". I am saying there is a science to it. I have been studying music and all that it means as well as did Chemistry or Biology and for the same reason. It is real fascinating to me because there is a science to the beat, the tones the harmonies or lack thereof of any harmony.

Libertarians and hippies have almost the exact same goals in mind... communism in its raw form is a literal hippy community. And aligns with a Libertarian mindset, just in a community setting.

Whatever you see about communism as in the USSR, and CCP, etc. Is a political movement that exploits the pie in the sky ideology.

I try not to throw stones, glass houses and all that.

That said, last few years the D party has been taken over by rather extreme element. Or just the big money players pushing it that way.

Almost every D I know in real life no longer associates with the party. They left normal democrats behind. Clownfish TV, Tim Pool are a couple examples from YouTube land.

Hell Trump, Kennedy, Vivek, & Gabbard were all D before they party went so far left.

I can understand what you’re saying of far left libertarians. And some are the same on the left/right axis as communists.

But on the authoritarian vs libertarian up down axis they would differ.

I’m pretty center, a little right, and more libertarian than anything else.

When I take the tests I usually get placed where this red dot is. Thus many libertarians say I’m not libertarian enough.



Oh well. Not authoritarian enough to be maga, not libertarian enough to be anarcho-capitalist.

I just hang out in no man’s land boring centrist watching the world burn and useless to do anything to stop it.

I would have to disagree with that. It's not that we're afraid of change, we can extrapolate from evidence that it's not going to work. Oregon for example tried to legalize all drugs. Anyone with 2 functioning brain cells knew how that would work out, but they tried it anyway.

What happened ? Drug use soared. Deaths soared. Now they reversed course after several years and saying "Oh! Our little social experiment didn't work. Whoops ! "....and now cleaning up their mess is going to cost the tax payer untold amounts for their next experiment.

Nope, Communism has a central gov that controls things. Once again, you don't understand the definition of something. Libertarians are for LESS GOV not controlled communities.

Hippies wanted less gov back in my day.

Now those same exact ones want to shut down free speech and order people to wear masks etc... my old Hippy professor of Mass Communications we all loved would be rolling over in his grave if he new Gays were against free speech of another human being.
