The EVA webcast begins at 4:55 a.m. ET → spacex.com...

Im up and Ive always thought if we were ever going to let us see a close encounter of the 4th kind it would go gown like this.

Wasnt there an alien meeting in the loading bay of the space shuttle allegedly

Scheduled for Sep 12, 2024
Polaris Dawn Mission Commander Jared Isaacman and Mission Specialist Sarah Gillis will perform a "stand-up" EVA outside Crew Dragon Resilience to test out new designed EVA suits by SpaceX to validate suit mobility designs, including specially designed hand and foot holds that the crew will use to attempt to maneuver.

That was creepy as heck with him not moving his left arm. Those suits are not very flattering either, that’s what I want to see is butt cheeks in space.

LOL, that was weird, I thought he was going to be tethered and go out completely instead of just sticking half his body out the hatch.

But I guess everything needs to be checked and yes the flexibility of the suit seemed limited at least in comparison to the NASA suits worn on other spacewalks.

I suppose this shows some of the functionality of the spacecraft and the suit, where if they were stranded we might be able to send an autonomous capsule to the rescue.

but I thought this was technology NASA had already used over and over

Thats the one...

funny how many former NASA people seemingly go nuts...and make wild unsubstantiated claims.

Yeah it seemed like the exercise was as much about seeing if they could open the hatch and repressurize as doing space "stick your head out of the hatch"

Apparently "There's a fine line between genius and insanity." Oscar Levant.

Which may account for the eccentric today nuts tomorrow phenomenon.

I was watching that live last night. Imagine it with a high quality camera. The second astronaut came out on the dark side. it wasn't as stunning.

I think that kind of thing is probably illegal now. The nanny state has taken over

Don't worry. The lawyers in this country are working over time to make sure SpaceX is illegal too.
