An accomplished actor, yes, and a voice that is the epitome of our time. He grew up and studied here in MI, veteran of the Korean war. RIP sir, you've left a beautiful mark on this world that cannot be duplicated nor ignored.

Such an Iconic voice Darth Vader and "this is CNN" when CNN was still reputable.

His portrayal of Terrance Mann in Field of Dreams was an all-timer

Sad about the man.

But they'll probably just digitize him like other Star Wars actors.

His legacy remains.

There's a guy I'll miss. He could be really funny. I wish he would've had more opportunity to demonstrate that.

For me, tied with John Facenda for Best Voice Ever.

I saw Bloodtide a long time ago. It was quite forgettable. In fact, I have no idea what the movie was about. The only scene I remembered from it was James Earl Jones breaking a small watermelon with his fist.

Looking at it now, he appears to search for the right spot to hit. Perhaps there is a cut there to aid his punch. Regardless, it takes a heck of a wallop to burst through the outer skin like that. I never forgot it.

James Earl Jones vs Watermelon is apparently a meme/gif as well. I had no idea. I wonder if we will see more of it now. MakeAGif.com

One of the better actors and amongst my favourites. His theatrical background put him above many others.

I'm undecided what I liked more, the booming voice of Darth Vader or his bellowing laugh.

R.I.P. James

ETA: He was humble enough to star in B movies, but always gave a stellar performance.

From By Dawn's Early Light (1990), I love his line "Will someone give me a cigarette... A REAL CIGARETTE!"

93?? Wow. Didn't know he was that old.
Saw him on Big Bang Theory a while back.
Didn't look like he was 90ish at all.
