How in the hell do you walk on to a carrier and not get stopped by security!

This is BS!

NORFOLK — The Navy is investigating how a man managed to get on board the aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman without authorization while the Norfolk-based ship was visiting Britain on April 9.

The Truman’s security force discovered the intruder while in port at a naval base in Portsmouth, in southern England; British police removed him.

"After his discovery, the ship’s security conducted a search of surrounding areas and found no suspicious packages or damage," said Cmdr. Dave Werner, a spokesman for the 2nd Fleet here.

Woah, let's not go blaming this on the Brits. After all I've been aboard on the Norfolk Naval base and I went on the USS Enterprise. And I'll put it this way, once you're in it's not too hard to sneak around. Of course if theres an alert you're screwed, but theres so many civilians around that the navy usually can't take much notice.

Portsmouth front gate has 2 MOD plod guards both armed, 2 marines and a advocate or something there...and thats the outer gate.
SBS is based there....the home fleet is based there....
Ok wait, the article doesnt say where the thing was docked....portsmouth is big....was it the civi side or military...I doubt that it would be inside the base.

Just talk to my cousin aboard the Truman, they got back to their local port late sunday night, he was very surprise that I had heard about this incident, he told me they had all their communication blocked off cuz somebody had told a friend or family member or something that the ship was going to england from XXX and that was a big NO NO, so they all spent a couple of weeks or somethign without phones or emails. knew something was wrong cuz we talk about 1 a monht or every 3 weeks and I hadn't heard from him in a little over a month. Well he'll be coming up for a visit in a few weeks get some details about what happend here.
