I will do me. LOL. Was that a threat ? You gonna look for an excuse to ban me ?

Mods take threads that fit the criteria of the forum and move them to other forums that don't show up on the "recent" page. This effectively kills the thread.

Sometimes someone says you said this thing or that thing and when you respond saying you didn't say those things you post gets deleted making it seem like you did say those things.

Sometimes your post gets deleted for repeating what someone has said while the person that said it has their post remain.

People don't like spending time organizing their thoughts and finding pictures and videos and links just to have all that effort thrown in the garbage.



If I'm wrong then what is your explanation for the decline? There use to be a lot of people here and all kinds of discussions on all kinds of topics.

Now it's like the OP says. Mostly just main stream political stuff. With very few voices.

What do you think happened?

It would imo be better if politics was not on ATS, even if that meant far less threads on a daily basis

I am always suprised that people cheerlead for politicians of any party, and seem shocked when they lie on a daily basis

And its not even like any of the political threads have anything to do with conspiracys, just the usual if rich idiot A runs the country we are doomed, replies then say well if rich idiot B wins we are even more doomed, then name calling ensues and people act like school kids in a playground.....all over politicians, truly bizarre

Reality is between now and November ATS will be flooded with endless name calling and political threads

I doubt the site will have any new features added but if it did, perhaps we could have tabs for which forums we do/dont wish to see

More people need to wacth Brewsters Millions

You need to start a thread of "Where did the aliens go?" As we moved into a world where everyone has a very good camera/Video on them 24/7 and cameras in general are crazier than even 10 years ago, much less 50, what happened to the aliens?

I'm on the edge that there never were aliens and this all has been a self-fueling social phenomenon. We have been stuck in the first-person witness phase for about 100 years and just not going anywhere else. There is also the Fermi paradox that is becoming more and more popular.

Many decades ago, I read that if another intelligent race reached the point of producing self-replicating AI explorer crafts, they could travel slower than light and travel our complete galaxy in 2 billion years. Constantly self-replicating and exploring sending data back to a race 2 billion years extinct. This would explain why these crafts seem very small and not engaging with us.

Machines are not affected by evolution such as life is, in a million years we will not be human, for example. Time and distance are life's downfall in thinking about massive space travel.

Yes...us members are revolting!

I feel politics shouldn't be cut out of the forums and the site entirely because governments and people in power will always try and game the system.

Conspiracies are often related to government and politics.

To eliminate politics all together would be the end of any serious inquiry.

We could watch CGI videos of aliens and debate them but you couldn't discuss a government cover up without getting into political figures and presidential administrations.

Once it gets real you would have to stop.

The politics aren’t the problem, there’s always been politics here, the problem is the manner in which they’re discussed compared to say 20 years ago. There was much more intelligent and civil debate here back then. Matter of fact there’s a lot of members that were here that discussed politics but a lot of the time I had no idea what Party affiliation they were because the discussion was around the issues at hand and not so much which team you were on, not the case anymore. The political divide in 2024 has reached a all time high.

You are from the UK....so us US people are actually aliens to you.

keep an eye on the Aliens to make sure they do not take over the world. When we discuss politics it does effect you in the UK who we elect one way or another. Our heads of government can do things that drag you into a war.

Yeah, I am getting tired of politics too, but being aware of the polarization in our society is important so we respond appropriately. Seems everything us older people say nowadays is either racist, sexist, or not politically or socially correct...to the younger people who have been brainwashed to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Think about it, they took the picture of a black woman off of a syrup bottle that everyone knows of, saying it is demeaning to have a black woman's picture on Aunt Jemima's syrup. Even her family said to keep it on there, they were proud of her reference on the bottle, but no it might offend the blacks. Then they took the Indian head off land of lakes butter...why not just give some Indian organization that helps lots of their tribes a few cents a pound for every pound of butter produced instead of removing the Indian....that would have helped the Native Americans way more than removing that picture.

No common sense in America anymore, and we have lots of nukes over here. Remember, our politics is the politics of aliens to you, but at least we can get passports to come there as tourists, we do not need to do crop circles, just need round trip tickets on a jet, passports, and money to blow.

Hey I'm American and not too much into the politics either. I mean it is election season now and everybody has an opinion or wants to dog on one candidate or the other.

I just try and make posts usually about whatever weird thing I'm thinking about at the time, you can do that too and then we can all comment on your threads too its pretty dead here but I think its because a lot of people on here are probably just like you, more into UFOs or unexplained things than politics, its just that most of the threads threads being made are about that so that makes people who aren't into that not participate as much.

Long story short, you should make posts about weird stuff too.

Except for getting rid of all the info-packed "Mud Pit" threads, you moderators/administrators have been invaluable. Were it not for your oversight and maintenance, AboveTopSecret.com would contain thousands of SPAM posts. Thankyou for those ongoing efforts.
