no matter on the agreement to remove the forum "Mud Pit" from ATS, there is another loss. Many of us used the mud pit to post out of respect for the moderators. To have DTOM have to come into every thread to remind everyone "this isn't the mud pit" seemed to be getting cumbersome on her, and at least I made the effort to just do all my posts there. When I think back to a thread I did during the 2020 election, I have no ability to go back to even read those, nor anyone else's threads there.

I get that the decision was made to close it, but can't the threads be accessed if for no other reason than to read them? Or is there another reason that was removed?

I agree with you on the accessibility issue. I've often wanted to be able to grab a link, or a quote from it and of course we cannot.

As for decorum, I may have slipped up once or twice but for most in a serious discussion it's not that hard to not name call or to deflect to insulting a whole group of people or the poster. Unfortunately many prefer to do just that instead of add to the discourse.

to think that the polarization of the political climate won't creep into threads here is silly. Moderators do what they do, and people behave how they do. Adults should be left to be adults, and deal with the repercussions of their actions and words. Free speech and all. I just would love to be able to access some of the threads from there.

Sure wish we had an owner we could appeal this to.............

Maybe get some rule and terms of service clarification as well.

I put this here as the Mods do check this stuff out, and they might have the power among themselves to make this change, I don't know. But it would be super to have them speak on it.

With all the exposure about all the censorship by government agencies on social media, and all the exposed political conspiracies on ATS, MAYBE just MAYBE the censorship coercion was the real "reason". Things had to get covered up afterall right? 😊 Burying it all like they did was a perfect single-shot censor effort.

my understanding from reading the darko posts it was all about advertising revenue. iirc he posted that many wouldn't place ads because of the mud pit.

it seems it hurt the feelz of the money grubbing libs.

There's nothing that can be done over this nuked material.
Thread closed pending staff discussion.
