I think truth has a subjective spin.


We all have inherent bias. No way around it really but you can understand you have it and counterweigh it upon your factual path that leads to truth.

What Wanchorofrcarp said about biases rings true, you also have to remember that biases are present in everyone, in every source you go to. You just need to learn to filter out the cr@p

The truth as presented isn't always true, and the evidence used to convince someone that something is true can be manufactured.

I'm all for truth, but there doesn't really seem to be any way of knowing whether the things I believe to be true actually are.

People have to wade through whatever evidence I can find and choose what they want to believe the truth is.

I never commit to believing in things 100%. They may seem overwhelmingly true today and then proven false tomorrow. I always keep looking for new information.

Some people cannot handle the truth

It really shocks me just how many sheep ,NPC people there are that believe everything the devil box in the corner tells them to and hang on every word a politician says when some know that they are all in on the scheme to keep us down and dumb .

There is no left or right or centre in politics, just the ups and downs

Perspective is the key, well that and it helps to have multiple different sources of information so you can learn to read between the lines as SprocketUK suggests.

There are hard core material facts one can take as truths.

The force of gravity on earth

The speed of light

Genetic expression

Math

Men are men. Women are women. Xy xx zero exceptions a true fact. Sure other expressions exists, but then your neither. a genetic mutant sadly a exceedingly rare one at that.

But a man can truely feel like a women. Even I can admit that. Do I think it’s acceptable and should be normalized and celebrated? No I think they’re extremely mentally ill.

But that’s my truth vs their truth.

I think that the 'truth', as always, is PERSONAL in nature, whereas 'facts', as always, are COMMUNAL in nature.

They are NOT the same thing.

Personal Disclosure: And I can explain why ...

I am schizophrenic and my reality bubble is different, aside from the facts, from your reality bubble and here is why ...

I hallucinate and I can see a black cat who hovers 1 inch off of the ground with their legs stuck in place and they hoon around through people and objects and doors as if they are a ghost BUT I can feel when it rubs up against my leg and I can hear it purr and meow, which other people do not sense at all.

Hence my personal 'truth' is that the hallucinated cat is real to me, but the communal 'fact' is that I am hallucinating and that hallucination is not real for others.

Therefor when sussing out somebodies truths one must be open to things that might not seem factual at face value.

A Truth does have a side ... and that side is YOURS OR MINE OR SOMEBODY ELSES!... Whereas Facts are on EVERYBODIES SIDE!

It is the communal FACTS that shall set one free , eventually ... whereas ones biased 'truth' can hurt others, if abused!

NOTE: The left and right axis of politics on the political compass is factually ONLY about who controls and produces the money, and there are only two players in that game ... YOU and the STATE! And under capitalism, the rightwing node aka YOU, is in control ... versus under socialism/communism, where the leftwing node aka the STATE, is in control.

The leftwing rightwing axis of the political compass has NOTHING to do with determining what the FACTS are at all ok.

As for progress, conservatively speaking, what once worked still works as far as morality goes ... whereas technologically speaking there may be better ways of doing things!

Technology MUST be tempered with MORALITY ok, or we end up with immoral AI driven terminators killing off mankind!

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding of what those set of words all mean ok.

A group of people see an object. The same single object.

They all are looking at the same object. They all focus on one part. They all argue that only they see the object as it truly is. They are all correct but cannot believe that anyone else's description of the object is even possible.

If you can figure out how to let them all understand the perception that each other experiences, you have solved almost all problems with society.

Truth is both that simple and elusive at the same time.

The Truth is what people believe it is . Take History for example . History is written by the Victors, WW2 the Allies won so they write history and tell you what really happened .

Is it the Truth ? Well yes and no .

Take the Version of history Written by the Axis powers and then the Version written by the Allies . The " Truth " is somewhere in between .

The Revolutionary War is not what it seemed, The Civil War was not about Slavery at least not at first . Later it became Lincoln's rallying Cry to make up for all the carnage and Death .

The Cold War , A decades long war fought against "Communism" and yet the World's Governments are literally reorganizing into Communist Governments in 2024 . What the hell was the Cold War actually about ?

Now a Fact is a different story. Proponents of Emotional Truth Hate Facts.

Facts = Truth.

We get into the weeds when we don't confirm others see flat or smooth verses pointy. Once we have agreed upon facts we can go with those until something comes to disprove a "fact".

We must keep it to facts.

Speed of light,is ONLY unbeakable CURRENTLY. Technology will one day allow us to break it.(actually we already have in the black triangles but i digress)

Genetics will also be broken by science and be rewritten at will in the future.

Gravity will be conquered as well with time.

What does this have in common? MAN finds a way to change the facts with new tech and breakthroughs.
