He is asking for a DELAY in moving forward with putting former President Trump on trial for attempting to stop the Jan 6th 2021 Congressional certification of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., as the man to be sworn in as U.S. President on January 20, 2021.

Special counsel Jack Smith is asking the judge overseeing former President Donald Trump's federal election interference case for more time to propose a timetable for future proceedings after the Supreme Court upended the case with last month's immunity ruling.

In a filing Thursday, Smith’s office asked U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan to allow the parties until Aug. 30 to propose next steps.

If the request is granted, it would give prosecutors three more weeks to consult with other parts of the Justice Department on a way forward in a case that focuses on Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

Special Counsel Jack Smith should just show he has character and integrity by resigning, and putting the case back in Biden-Garland's lap.

Even though the Trump team was going to present classified information/evidence demonstrating how some of the fraud was executed, that will now have to wait until either Donald Trump is President (and declassifies the info), or President Kamala tells Jack Smith to stay on Trump's azz and get his trial started.

You cannot overturn election results that have not yet been certified, IMHO ... so in what manner were the Jan 6 protesters attempting to overturn results, considering that the traitor Pence did not certify the fraudulent electoral vote until January 7?
