Yes for work but it isn't listening to everything I say , I know it want's to track my position but I have that switched off , I also know they could triangulate my position if they wanted but I'm not worth tracking anymore.

As far as I'm aware fart noises are what Alexa does best , kept my brother in law happy when they first got one.

while I agree that opening yourself up to Gov snooping is silly, don't think for one second that because you turned off the "Siri" feature on your phone, she isn't listening and telling "them" all the things you say.

I don't have a Siri feature as I don't have an IPhone but my phone does have google assistant which is switched off , did it on setup.

I just find it odd people concerned about their government and who post those concerns on a public conspiracy forum are comfortable with a "smart" speaker listening to everything they say especially in the age of AI recognition tools , not saying it's wrong or the Alphabets would listen in but they could.

I searched Duck Duck Go the other day about “Biden She it ing his pants” and the first news article it pulled up was “Trump she it ing his pants over new candidate Kamala”. Maybe I should have put literally.

I don't have an Alexa unit, but it comes with the Amazon Fire Stick. You have to push a button on the remote to ask a question, supposedly it's not listening the rest of the time. Like all tech who knows if it's ever really "off"
