Are aliens slowly introducing the human race to their language by introducing basic alien words to us through all these new medicines?

Anakinra

Cisplatin

Domperidone

Idebenone

Moxifloxacin

Pancuronium

Phensuximide

Vinblastine

Warfarin

Xylometazoline

Xylometazoline???????? What the hell, I don't care what it does.. gimme some a that stuff....

Here's a quick quiz for anyone who reads this thread. I lifted each and every medicine on the list from the internet. Only one is recognized by ATS's spell check. Only one.

With all the crap they put in our food, that's probably just the ingredient list on a jar of spaghetti sauce.

I've noticed a lot of chemical names and medical terms aren't caught by spellcheck.

Bring a medical glossary to scrabble night.

Warfarin is rat poison or blood thinner depending on the dose.

Yeah, and it's been around since the late 40's. Def not a new drug. It's not used as much as similar anticoagulants like Coumadin anymore because it requires pretty heavy level monitoring to ensure the patient doesn't bleed to death from an overdose. Most of the doctors that still used it back when I worked in the lab tended to be old school.

Most of these are fairly straightforward:

Anakinra is a member of the Skywalkera family.

Cisplatin is a straight version of LGBTQ+(p)latin (an Italian speaking homosexual).

Domperidone is an expensive label effervescent alcoholic beverage.

Idebenone is a contraction of the phrase "I'd be none", someone proclaiming their nihilism.

Moxifloxacin is someone whose force of character is flaccid after binging.

Pancuronium is a cure for everything shiny.

Phensuximide should not be mentioned in polite society.

Vinblastine is explosive diarrhea in a grape growing area.

Warfarin is the opposite of Peacefarin, fighting on despite opposition.

Xylometazoline is that peculiar dizzy state similar to what one might have after being struck by a xylophone.
