Fear of a Nationalist Salute

Iconic picture? Absolutely!

One that will be inpactful for decades to come. This is beyond Nixon at the door of Airforce One, and exists alongside the groud zero flag image, but something worries me about it all.

The polarizing moment that humanized Trump seen here, as cries of "He is Hitler" rang out, is STILL VERY VERY Hitler-esque. The Providence.

What bugs me about this event, is its religious overtones may overshadow the collective self-recognition of the draw surrounding it. The virus may not be able to recognize itself.

To put it bluntly, I'm worried that fist becomes a staple of Trump Rally supporters. Figuratively. I am worried it becomes a symbol of national patriotism and solidarity with its supreme leader, Donald J. Trump, and the reclaimist movement he represents.

I'm worried it becomes an ironic way to express how it's not a Third Reich type movement taking place. I wish for everyone to Let the BLM people do the solidarity fists. No need to counter.

It seems still teetering on the edge. Right there to birth the liberal nightmare. I'm concerned it may become a symbol of Christian Nationalism. That the angel at the rally is seen as divine confirmation of righteousness and "God on our side."

And that all unbelievers will be now countered with crusade-like tenacity. The hyperbole employed is noted.

And it scares the sh*t out of me, because what separates Jews from the godless woke like myself?

What stops this hyperbolic image from existing?



Will that happen? No. I believe he means "state's rights" when he says it, but I'm also socially progressive and prone to histrionic pandering.

It's feeling like this "unity" coming from this generational event is rallying around righteous manifest destiny in response.

I know this is fear-based on my part. But I liked the woke meme. I liked rainbows until they mandated it via DEI and started going authoritative with it. Canceling those who opposed, and it all was for naught. Once it started demanding everyone sign on it was over. That beget what I fear is coming, the restigmatization of what is different. Payback. Harsh payback.

Many of us laid this road to hell in best intention.

Anecdote:

When I was younger I got into radical feminism.The premise that gender roles are enforced by a patriarchal oppressive Christian dynamic that seeks to reduce woman to "25% incubator, 75% sentiment." To tell us our our gender roles are to be submissive. To be the rib of Adam and cause of original sin. To be housewives, breed children, and have no say over our own bodies. Misandry is obligatory.

I aged, the anger lessened as attitudes started shifting.

Then the woke movement happened. Now these gender roles were encouraged to be trampled on. They were encouraged to be obliterated and destigmatized. Woman leading families. Lesbians no longer looking like 1970s softball players in mullets. Boys wearing skirts. Androgyny, screw whomever it makes uncomfortable. After all, dogmatic stigmas had bullied us and gaslit us for eons.

I wanted it to be a non-issue, not a forced to submit issue. A who cares thing. It finally became acceptable, but then went too far with dragqueen strippers and viral posts until the motivation became cultural reclamation.

The fear is what Donald Trump represents is a manifest destiny restigmatization of everything progressive. Gender roles redefined. Bible redefined. Patriarchy reinserted. Back to at least the 80s. Like the goal is undoing everything that changed since 1990.

Like the quotes from rally goers that "We need to insert God back into American society." (sic)

That's the irrational fear. I dont think the empowerment is going anywhere, neither is the gay marriage. We have been assured our states will have the right to govern themselves. For all intent and purpose I have nothing to fear.

But it sure as hell doesn't stop me from fearing my own bogeyman seeking to submit me to the unfair standards of yesteryear surrounding a catalytic event.

Be worried when people are forced to do the fist thingy.

Until then it's just a symbol like red baseball caps, pink caps, or a rainbow.

It's a Logical chain of events .

They have been doing everything in their power to stop DJTump from 2016 onward .....

Covid19 and the Pandemic , The Constant non-stop Legal battles that get literally no where because they are all based on complete non-sense , Now the Debate where Biden showed his true self and made the entire Left look ridiculous .

There was only one play left and that is kill him.

Trump did not need some false flag assassination attempt to make him look good . Biden's complete failure during the Debate sealed the Lefts fate in 2024 .

first this was a thought provoking post and i appreciate that.

i think you are right but also wrong in your fears and this is where we all do have to come together and not listen to the people with the big mouthpiece big audiences who espouse minority views.

i believe everyone has the freedom to do what they will i am no ones judge and yes the problem i and everyone i know has is that it has all been forced on us. we are forced to cosign something we at best dont even care about at all or at worst are opposed to.

that is the problem with media on both sides. the tel lie vision has amplified these minority views on both sides. and it isnt how most i would say 70 to 80 percent of people are not that extreme on either side. but they have the microphone and it makes everyone look bad.

so dont be worried, lets all from like gay straight black white whatever lets all just be like honestly we dont care what anyone does like being trans gay whatever nobody will be forced to hide who they are but also no one will be forced to support things they dont.

i do feel like a lot of democrats have gotten a bad rap from the media showing all the weird color hair people screaming and being crazy. but the other side is just as bad toward republicans. thats why we all just have to agree to stop and live and let live and let God sort it all out in the end.

I'm not buying staged, but think there was some VERY clear alchemy happening. Lead hit his ear and within 2 seconds it was transmuted into gold.

So you acknowledge the secret service acted oddly during the event? Considering how short a good chunk of his detail was, that was the best they could do was prop him up!
At this point how authoritarian is all the dei garbage being shoveled down everyone's throat? It has become the very thing they like to criticize, a religion. Just like the LGBTQ crowd stole the rainbow Trump, inadvertantly, stole the BLM, ANTIFA fist. That is just the way it worked out. I can tell you at least half of the USA is greatful. Now when you see the fist in the air you can think of Trump, the American flag and MAGA.

Oh without question yes he capitalized on the moment so much so that he was continuing to put himself at Risk . He knew exactly what he was doing .

Too soon! I'm still stuck on the peace symbol from my youth that's still popular today and why that didn't turn everybody peaceful.

Me too, I had a blast in the 80s, for some reason people tend to use their imagination when it comes to what they perceive as dangerous and over work it too much.

I see Trump fist in the hair as defiance in the face of near dead experience. But we as humans are different, we do not see things the same, unless you are brainwashed to have the herd mentality.
