That simply reflects the fact that the historical and philosophical roots of law were often intertwined with religious beliefs and divine authority.
But it's not God that imprisons you if you break the law or commit a serious crime.
Nor is it God who seizes your property or goods because you refuse to, or cannot, pay.
That's Man and the systems he has devised all on his own.
As to hard to see, i agree it is the hand of God we are talking about, because it's us that have our fingers in the pie.
Cheers for the links all the same kwaka, but again God does not make the law, people do.
It is also worth keeping in mind there are many Gods, according to Man, and the concept has been around far longer than the likes of Christianity.
