The Star Wars movies that came out when I was a kid were good.
They are called Episodes #4 and #5 now.
ALL the others suck. No other word for it.

Eh to be fair Star Trek has always put forward more woke/ liberal ideas.

Star Wars was hijacked and turned into a tool for woke agendas in Hollywood.

That is true . Star Trek was never shy about pushing their Socialist Space-topia .

Star Wars could go woke and still not be as terrible as it has become . Disney took a billion dollar idea and torpedoed it.

Uhmm... you can think that if you want. But Georges jabs at the Republican party were not that subtle. Pretty in your face if you ask me.

And with Rogue One... well you gotta get the story from one of the writers.

Chris Weitz tweeted the following Friday morning: “Please note that the Empire is a white supremacist (human) organization.” Gary Whitta, the original writer on the project, responded in kind, tweeting: “Opposed by a multi-cultural group led by brave women.”

And then you have this.

Rebellions Are Built On Hope: Why Rogue One Matters Now More Than Ever

It's disgusting that a man, a man that's gloated about sexual assault and earned fame and fortune partially as a purveyor of objectification, has been rewarded. It's disgusting that a man endorsed by the most vile hate groups in the country now speaks for our country. It's disgusting that the man that's a heartbeat away from the presidency believes you can electrocute the gay out of people. It's disgusting that a man that called Mexicans rapists and sees terrorism in the face of every Muslim man, woman and child now wields the power of our nuclear arsenal.

Clearly the writers of Rogue One hate Trump. And clearly it's a story about fighting against a fascist xenophobic Empire. Which is something that Trumps rhetoric is.

So yeah. Star Wars is still woke.

Still dont care... if you want to obsess over identity politics and look at everything through that lens.. you do you.

I watch a movie to be entertained.

OG star wars presented it in a way that was not heavily in your face, if you saw every interview etc.. sure I expect it would seem obvious the avg movie goer doesnt.

I saw zero pre-release rogue one interviews, so I went in and saw a movie with good writing, good pacing, good cinematography. Pretty much the last star wars product to put an entire product out there other than "the message".

the more disney pays for puff pieces, the more people are turning on them because the entire product is just "the message", and piss all else.
