I just posted a thread here on ATS and then copied & pasted it to three other forums then compared the time it took for my thread to drop down the new topics pages.

For here and Rogue-Nation, there wasn't a new topic discussed for an entire hour.

For The Patriot Hangout on Tapatalk.com, it was one new comment per topic every ten minutes.

Now, an oldie but goody. A forum board called the US Message Board. New posts had my thread dropping down the page by the minute. After 30 minutes, I was 30th on the new posts page.

All this from 11:30 pm Sunday to 12:30 am Monday.

Of course, social media like Facebook or Gab would be much different. A new post of mine would drop off within a minute or two of making it.

I'm not sure what kind of point I'm trying to make except the amount of time your posts and threads will have exposure on various media. I'm not trying to sell any other forum board either.

ETA: I got more views from TPH (which had the only comment) and USMB which had the most views during that time period.

15 or even 10 years ago the Internet was alive or so it seemed , now when you go online the place feels like a ghost town , even sites like eBay seem dead compared to years ago .

True the CT crowd are older than most forums but not everyone has shuffled of this earth yet , where àre all the hundreds of millions of English speaking computer users hiding out , how often do we come across a genuine Indian or other who is real and not a bot or someone with a VPN .

Well, at least with fewer posts on the ATS New page, a thread or post will remain up longer than some other boards. It will likely get more views without getting buried on the new posts page so quickly. On the other hand, the quick turnover on some boards keeps the fresh news flowing when things are at a standstill here.

Just about 12 hours later, my thread on the US Message Board slid off the first New Posts page to page 5, but it is still up on page one of the others. As people find and respond to it, it will come and go until it disappears on all of these boards I tested.

I don’t like the quick turnover, I don’t like the way social media has TDL’Rd everything. Important topics get quickly forgotten about as people move on to the next thing. TikTok and now YouTube shorts give people the attention span of goldfish, and actually lowers their ability to concentrate.

I don’t think people have to go into long winded ramblings either, some things can and should be stated plain and simply. I just don’t like the way society seems to move on to whatever the next thing is and it feels like there is a backlog of things just swept aside that never got resolved or addressed properly.

It suits those who like certain things to just go away I suppose.

I use other sources to stay current with the news. Citizen's Free Press is just one. It took over after Drudge went communist.

Believe it or not, YouTube is another if you subscribe to the right channels.
And filter out sources they try to push onto you, like ABC, CBS, NBC, AP, Reuters and the like. All the MSM propaganda news sites.

Now, some 32 hours later, the thread I've been monitoring is # 8 on Rogue-Nation's first page and #13 on the New Posts page here on ATS. It has dropped to #18 on The Patriot Hangout's first page and is on page 9 of The US Message Board only 11 posts away from disappearing altogether.

It looks like it may be a matter of days to leave the first New Post pages of those first three boards listed above. I will experiment further with some social media and see how long those comments last in the feeds. I predict that posts in the new comments feed will disappear quickly, while group feeds will last longer as they do here.

I was just looking over Facebook and Gab to get an idea of what happens to my posts there. The feeds are divided into subgroups going from people you follow commonly known as Friends and Groups made up of people who you may or may not follow. These are the two main ways that new posts will arrive in your current up-to-date feed. The volume and turnover of new posts will depend on how many friends you follow and how popular the groups are that you join. Plus there are other parameters to consider in the way you set up your feeds.

My profiles on these platforms are not typical examples of most people's accounts, but I could project the figures to get a ballpark estimate of the staying power of posts made on social media.

I should have included the following information in this study, the basic board statistics.

Above Top Secret
Members 326,911
. . . with these old statistics www.abovetopsecret.com

US Messageboard
Members 47,742

The Patriot Hangout
Members 818

Rogue-Nation
Members 234

The membership totals have little to do with post-turnover in these example boards. Obviously, active membership is a main factor and would be hard to determine.

I believe I am straying into Influencer Marketing and may continue this under that title in another thread.

On a fast-moving board, if you want to develop your research, it's also possible to compare time zones.

I remember ATS before the end of 2012, when there was an appreciable increase of speed on the Recent Posts page later in the GMT afternoon when the Americans began to wake up. One of the first things I noticed about the effects of the 21/12/2012 fiasco was that this difference was much less noticeable six months later.

Remember when ATS was like that.

You could post a new topic.

If it survives mod scrutiny it might be on the board 10 minutes.

Then you were bumped off.

That’s when you better have a great title.

After around 36 hours it has now disappeared from US Message board. Dropped a little more on the others by a couple of posts.

So if only ATS the website was "sold", who sues in the name of TAN? 😊

I'm not sure that clause is applicable, because the OP's thread is not material that he "found" here. It is material he wrote himself. In that case, surely, the relevant clause is

17 Rights In Posted Materials: By posting on this message board, you relinquish all exclusive copyrights to any materials you Post and furthermore, you grant TAN non-exclusive, non-revocable worldwide, royalty-free rights to copy, distribute, display, reproduce, modify, adapt, create derivative works, and publicly perform the materials in perpetuity in all forms.

In other words, he has given up the right to prevent TAN from using the material elsewhere, but he has NOT given up the right to use it elsewhere himself. The TAN copyright is non-exclusive.

P.S. I might add that a few of my own recent threads have been posted nearly simultaneously (but ATS first) on ATS, Deny Ignorance, and Rogue Nation. The "Three Forums Club".
