BREAKING: US military says that the temporary pier will be removed from Gaza and towed back to Ashdod, Israel, due to challenges related to sea conditions.

Aid began arriving via the U.S.-built pier on May 17, and the U.N. said it transported 137 trucks of aid to warehouses, some 900 metric tons, before the U.S. announced on May 28 that it had suspended operations so repairs could be made.

The United Nations said on Friday it had still not resumed transportation of aid from the pier to U.N. World Food Programme warehouses.
"Our security colleagues are still working to ensure that secure conditions for humanitarian work can be re-established," said deputy U.N. spokesperson Farhan Haq.

U.S. President Joe Biden announced in March the plan to put the pier in place for aid deliveries as famine loomed in Gaza, a Hamas-run enclave of 2.3 million people, during the war between Israel and the Palestinian militants.

The pier is estimated to cost hundreds of millions of dollars for the first 90 days and involve about 1,000 U.S. service members.

The government can take a good idea and make it expensive as hell and they seem to consistently fail. It is politicians trying to impress voters that makes the failure rate so high.

The way Biden has spent our money on other countries, quite spontaneously I might add, and on a lot of seemingly 'disposable' goods, tells me that there is money to be had, money to be used for ALL things here at home. I swear, if I ever hear "there's no money" I will spit nails. It's all BS and now we all know it.

And yes, I'm aware of the fact it's OUR money being spent. But the Biden administration has had carte blanche available for every whim, every feather in the wind they fancy, and now I know we can do a hell of a lot more in our own country. If they can spend it abroad, they can spend it at home. There simply is no excuse.

Truth is, there is war in Gaza and Truth is the first casualty of war.

Factual information coming out of Gaza at this time is limited. One reason for this is the extraordinarily high count of journalists being targeted and killed.

as of 5 April 2024 the Israel–Hamas conflict has claimed the lives of at least 2 Israeli and 3 Lebanese journalists, as well as, according to the government media office in Gaza on 16 May, 147 Palestinian journalists en.wikipedia.org...

No journalists, no factual reporting from the ground, just official propaganda and assorted BS to rile up the proles.

Well journalist have been showing where their allegiances lie. Hint it is not the pursuit of truth. It's becoming another shield to be a journalist and then work for a side in the conflict they are covering.
