Yes, “people” do know what it means. What we have is a “mixed economy” in the US, that is, we have elements of Capitalism mixed with elements of socialism.

The US has a mixed economy. A mixed economy has components of both capitalism and socialism. Because there is less government regulation than a command economy would have, the US is more capitalist. However, there are components of socialism in the US economy because of the government regulation on minimum wage, businesses, tariffs, and government-funded healthcare.

Both Lenin and Marx stated that communism is the end goal of socialism.
But, we are talking about the economic aspect here. Full-on communism is what the old Soviet Union was, a centrally planned and controlled economy with lots of gulags to imprison those whom the “supreme state” viewed as enemies.

I have found, it is usually proponents of socialism/communism who tell us we don’t know what communism is. I would like to know if you have read Solzhenitsyn’s book, “The Gulag Archipelago”, or any history of the Soviet Union? You will find the truth if you really want to.

What you are failing to take into account is the PROCESS by which communism takes root. The way if the Bolsheviks was outright revolutionary means … a violent revolution. Stalinist type revolutionary means was a very brutal regime which threw people into gulags. Today, we see this happening where the political elites are throwing their enemies into prison using their flunkies embedded in the judicial system. Just look at the Jan 6 fallout, look at Steven Bannon, look at the kangaroo court of Judge merchan, look at Alvin Bragg and Fanni Willis, judge Engoran. These are all leftist radicals operating in the judicial system and corrupting it with unconstitutional activities.

Agreed Charles. The power elites of the world use any means necessary and available to achieve world control and domination with themselves as the robber barons with all the money and the monied interests. What difference what we name it? There are many ways they have used, whether oligarchy, socialism for redistribution of the wealth to those whom they wish to reward and from those they wish to punish steal the fruits of their labor “ for the common good” or anything they happen to want, capitalism for generating funds and supply, Keynesianism for control of the economy by the bankers and federal reserve and for keeping money flow rather than depression or recession….. and so on
They use the UN to implement controls over all nations of the world through international treaties and consensus for their plans, projects implemented for the purpose of control and depopulation (sustainable development, green energy(see Rosa Koire’s “Behind the Green Mask”) and varied ways to run the communities of the world aka Smart Cities , 15 minute cities etc guided by so-called “sustainable development”, plans to stop the people from eating meat and thus having the protein needed for strength, then there’s the WEF trying to make us eat bugs…. Among other things. Rosa Koire also mentions “public-private partnerships” and NGOs to do things for control using the private apparatus of NGOs combined with the government.
Then there is covert surveillance, such as data mining from media apps and platforms, and the latest Windows 11 program called “Recall”, embedded in the OS, which takes “ snapshots” reportedly every 3 seconds of everything we are doing on our pcs… I mean everything!!!!
I read an article once while at a doctors office, which suggested that Bill Gates was the “anti-Christ.”
Anything which is against the Christ principle of life can be considered anti-Christ …. So make your own assessment there…. remember he is involved heavily with vaccines and depopulation.

Yes! Besmenov explained this as the activities of “sleepers” aka protest movements for various “right”, designed to create chaos and destabilize society and central norms, also considered as “cultural Marxism.”

I like using the word “Collectivism” rather than “Communism”, it’s less constraining.

What I see also in many western countries is a form of Capitalism in government but the social climate is definitely Collectivist.

It appears to be a useful tool to control the masses without constraining those in power and their ability to profit from Capitalism.
