House Republican Proposes Putting President Trump on $500 Bill

This is a funny one. I'm sure it won't go anywhere. Fun to think about the liberal heads exploding all over the country if it did though. A House Republican is proposing putting Trump on the $500 Bill and resurrecting it for circulation. He says that doing so will help Americans with inflation ... not sure how he sees that helping with inflation. I believe it's against the law to have living people on US currency and US stamps ...

** I should note that Nancy Reagan was put on a US coin before she died, but the coin wasn't released until after her death. So that's kind of a gray area if it was breaking with tradition.

** I should also note that in Congress passed a law back in 1866 stating that no living person can be portrayed on US currency and in 1873 Congress prohibited the use of portraits of living people on any U.S. bond, security, note, or fractional or postal currency.

A Republican lawmaker wants to resurrect an out-of-print dollar bill denomination and put former President Trump's face on it.

Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., on Wednesday filed legislation to have the Federal Reserve print a $500 note featuring the 45th president. His bill is called the "Treasury Reserve Unveiling Memorable Portrait (TRUMP) Act."

"As Bidenflation continues to devalue our currency, the issuance of $500 bills featuring President Trump by the Treasury offers several practical advantages," Gosar said in a news release.

The last version of a $500 bill featured a portrait of President William McKinley and was printed in 1945. The denomination was discontinued 24 years later, according to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

Oh I've got a few - along with other silver and gold coins and bars safely vaulted. My guess is you've got zero precious metal holdings, libs suck at financial planning.

I think a $500 bill makes sense, no matter who they put on it since $500 has become the new $100, thanks to how well Biden's 'Build Back Better' has worked.
