New Jersey Senate Seat Might be Up for Grabs

New Jersey is a very Democrat state and the Democrat nominee almost always wins statewide races.
but this year standing Senator Bob Menendez is on trial for bribery, and the Democrat Party will select a new candidate in the Tuesday June 4 primary.

Now Mr. Menendez says he will run as an independent.

well, first, he might be found guilty as his trial is ongoing.

suppose he continues to run, conviction or no? might he draw enough votes away for a Republican to win?

Kim, a member of the House, is the presumed favorite.

Republicans: Curtis Bashaw, Albert Hawshaw, Justin Murphy, Christine Serrano Glassner. Ms. Glassner is Mayor of Mendham Borough, and endorsed by Mr. Trump.

I don't think NJ has had a Republican Senator since 1972 (!)
I guess Chris Christie missed a good opportunity.

it's possible that Menendez gets convicted and the dems convince him to end his independent campaign; in that case the dems will probably win.

The Andy Kim I'm talking about wrote music for The Archies, but Ron Dante was the "voice" of The Archies. I've seen him in concert.
