Do Not Reply

I just checked my mail box to see I had two warnings from staff regauring a thread I created, deducting 500 points each warning and letting me know I can be post-banned should I continue.

The message ended with 'Do not reply'. I'm not sure what offense I committed and without that knowledge I fear I my sometime in the future make another such mistake.

It's been my habit to avoid creating threads for just this reason. I can't improve if I don't know what I've done.

You got a 1000 point deducted? You almost had enough for the pencil topper too. Dang.

Long ago I had a post deleted not from what I was writing but the responses it was getting. It got a little carried away.

That's because replies to those auto generated messages don't go anywhere. You're always welcome to DM a staffer. I suggest DMing the staffer that actioned your post.

Trouble and point being is that the claim of TnCs being violated are seldom accompanied with which.


It's like getting a brain duster after sipping water. No idea what wrong was made.

This is made more apparent when posts are removed when it's a response to something....spicy.

And of course moderation varies as much as the moderators themselves.

I was told not to reply. Talk about mixed messages!

Who do I message? The one performing the action? No way in hell I want to make the wrong move again and get banned for....???

I'd like to improve, but without a little guidance I'm at a total loss.

The thread was The Real Reason Boeing Is Being Vilified. I've gone over and over it; I'll be danged if I got spot such the egregiuous error that has the ban hammer hanging over my head. Maybe I'm just too dense to see it?

Honestly, I figured the thread was deleted but when I checked it was still there. None of my responses were removed for T&C, Off Topic, Trolling, etc. Now I don't dare reply to any posters, so thanks to all who commented.

Like yeahright said, ask the mod who removed the post via PM.

The message that goes out for post removals is automatic. That message has been unchanged for years.
Any changes would have to be in the database....and is inaccessible.
