How do you block people here ?

I would like to block some of the spammers and trolls. How do I do that so I don't have to read their garbage.

There is no ignore feature on ATS.
You have to pass over those posts you choose to not read.

As far as I know you can't block anyone.

But, what you can do is if you don't want to see someones post.

Don't read them.

Skip over them.

I do it all the time.

I've always scrolled past them. Blocking someone you don't like seems so elementary regardless of platform.

I'm pretty sure Satan controls the way the social internet works, so *if* you're going to e-war looking to cut down the leftist comrade keyboard warriors with your rhetorical sword, it's not like you really even need that thick of armor or sharp a blade.

I never felt the need to block anyone ever, till I spent some time on Twitter/X, it's toxic AF. Otherwise, the scroll button always worked for me. Besides just cause I don't want to read somebody's bullchit in one thread doesn't mean I don't want to read any of their bullchit on other topics

If you’re looking for a massive echo chamber where all you get is people spouting the exact same opinion as you in unison you really should look into this thing called Reddit. They ban people who disagree with the masses.

We don't block here. Freedom of expressions and all ..read past.

I mostly just skim though the posts of members I always agree with. I enjoy reading the posts of members I always disagree with far more.

One person's spammers and trolls are another person's insight to reality.

For the benefit of some of you newcomers (including the moderators): there used to be an Ignore function but it had limited usability, and eventually the administrators removed it. They thought the T&C restrictions on speech were sufficient.

I don't like 90% of your posts, in fact most of your Euro commie garbage makes me cringe... But I agree with you here. And I wouldn't block you, blocking/ignoring is for the weak.

I just skim over things like all-caps and various cringe words like "sheeple" and plenty others I don't bother to waste my time with. But it's nice to read dissenting opinions. It's an open forum, after all. I find myself agreeing with things I've never considered in various ways, or sometimes at least came to understand their viewpoints and how I can clarify my own ideas better.
