In my usual rabbit holing and wormholing my way through all the online paranormal portals, and long story short, I stumbled across an urban
legend/kids creepout game. It goes by many names like elevator to another world and Korean elevator game because supposedly it started in South Korea
or Japan. Here's the link describing the game:

And heres a link describing the games origins.

So to summarize, its basically a game in the same genre as games like Bloody Mary and Light as a feather. Like the sort of spooky games kids in Japan
and Korea like to play. I wont go into the whole ritual involved, as its listed in the article, but it involves going to an elevator in a building at
least 10 stories high, pushing the buttons and traveling to the floors in a specified order until you end up on floor 10 of a different world thats
devoid of people. Theres also a creepy lady who gets on the 5th floor that youre supposed to ignore.
Anyway, I find the urban legend to be an incredibly creepy one with some interesting roots. East Asian folklore is very interesting to me. Theres
another elevator game thats Korean that involves seeing dead people using elevators and salt water. Its fascinating to see how mythology and folklore
continue to evolve, even in modern times. Two very modern day inventions: tall buildings and elevators have ended up being intermingled with tradition
mythos and symbolism into a weird creepy teen slumber party game for kids living in high rise urban areas. Modern urban kids connecting in weird ways
to the ghosts and other realms of their ancestors.
