I suppose their prospects of forming a government without involving the SNP become more of a challenge.

But still not impossible.

It would need to involve all sorts of convoluted strategic alliances with the smaller parties and independents, and again the Lib Dems.

The problem with such a coalition government would be the likes of the compromises that would have to be made, never mind the internal conflicts and stability issues that would most assuredly arise.

No teeth basically and slow to make decisions which given the current geopolitical climate might not be the most desirable of prospects.

Compromises have to be made if Labour gets less than 295 seats. It would mean they need two other parties to form a government. Some independents and the Lib-Dems I suppose.

Hmmm... the last coalition between Con and Lib ended in disaster for the Libs and they never recoverred. They promised to remove student debt, but part of the deal with the Cons was that they went back on that pledge. Lost a LOT of young votes.
As to Farage... I sort of get on a political level his argument that Trump has to win to be a 'friend' of the UK on the world stage. But I'm betting a lot of people will label him traitor to the British public. Not sure it's a smart move on Trumps part either. Farage puts one foot out of place, or Trump takes off his rose tinted glasses and he'll be saying "You're fired" with no hesitation. Farage, like I said yesterday is full of his own importance and is 'boxing above his weight' on this one in my view.
He's shot himself in the foot with trust and faith from the British public.

Nigel Farage has announced on twitter he won't be standing in the election.

He knows the Tory vote is going to split further but at this point in time whatever he does labour will win the next general election. He accomplished his task of taking UK out of the EU.

He's already stood 7 times and failed to get elected I guess he doesn't want to make it 8 , he also seems to feel his talents would be better used abroad and I think he thinks there may be a job in it for him if he succeeds.... Ambassador Farrage perhaps.

Couldn't post it earlier I was at work on my phone but here's what he posted on twitter.

Farage had just one task and he accomplished it long time ago.

I used to like Farage in the Brexit days, but he's a one trick pony.

The Trump thing is a bit weird.

He looks like a startled frog.

But he's not running as an MP so he's irrelevant.

I think the SNP will not do well given their poor record in office and that will favour Labour.

I don't think any Brits outside Jockland will stomach a Lab/SNP Coalition. I certainly couldn't.

It has become a maths problem at the moment and I am sure people in all parties with the exception of the Tories are adding and subtracting seats to see what sort of government can be formed. There are only a few scenarios for a coalition government, either Labour + Lib Dems+ Independents or Labour + SNP. They will try to avoid the latter.

I can't see any alternative to Labour right now.
Much of what seems to bother them is anathema to me but the tories have had 14 years and just gotten more and more loopy.

Seeing people like Paula Vennels crying her crocodile tears in that inquiry makes me want to vote for someone with a headsman's axe.

My vote will be going to none of the above cos not one of them is bloody worth the time it takes me to scribble an x on a piece of paper.

A pre-election headache for the SNP , today Police Scotland sent their report on Sturgeon's husband Peter Murrell's alleged embezzling of party funds.

He was rearrested last month and charged in connection with the embezzlement of SNP funds amid a police probe into the funding and finances of the party.

COPFS will now decide if there is enough evidence to prosecute Mr Murrell, and whether it believes a prosecution would be in the public interest.

Paula Vennals.

I have been following this and her evidence.

"I don't recall".

"My recollection is that I don't recall".

"I'm not a lawyer and that was all done by Legal, nothing to do with me, I was only the CEO".

"Who, me? I never knew about any problems with the Horizon software. Oh, I was sent a damning report from our lawyers about non disclosure? Was I? I don't recall that".

"Some bigger boys did it and ran away"

(Takes out onion and blubs).

She and the PO prosecutors should do prison time.

Simples.

I will always remember him for praising Saddam Hussein back in 1994.

Or for his Cat antics where he got down on all fours and started purring for Rula Lenska.

Was he praising Saddam Hussein or his people? He is known for his stance in all Middle East Issues and he does have a wider audience especially now with the situation in the Middle East. I don't see him winning a seat but he will get some votes.

"Sir i salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability"

He was praising Hussein directly as is evidenced by the recording.

Im not a big fan of both Gulf Wars and make no bones about that fact.

But Saddam was a dictator notable for a few horrendous acts of depravity like using terror against his own people for instance.

I was only 4 years old at that time....
Let me watch the video.

I don't even remember the other incident as I don't watch reality shows.

Edit: Just watched the video and he shouldn't have said it. What was he thinking of? What courage?

Neither do i Ernestc.

But the fellow in question Big Brother incident made headlines with his Cat routine which extended somewhat past the show.

I'm thinking secret furry to be honest.

He always puts me in mind of an old art teacher i had at school called Jack Mclean who became famous in his own regard.

Some of the things he said he shouldn't have said them. And this cat act was a low point in his career. But on the other hand he seems to enjoy popularity based on his views and his stance on the middle east issues. I don't think he will get a seat but you never know.

Politician's careers rise and fall Ernestc.

Such is life.

Will he win a seat?

Like you suggest, you never know.

It depends on which way the wind is blowing.

And if the tune he chooses to hum at that time appeals to the people.

Based on the recent by-election he seems very popular again because of the circumstances but this doesn't mean it will materialise to a seat gained in the current elections.
