Biden Says He Was Still VP During COVID and Obama Sent Him to ‘Fix It’

Put a fork in it. Seriously. I don't think Biden is going to make it until November.

On Sunday, Biden was in Michigan pandering for the black vote by giving a speech to the NAACP in Detroit. He told the black folks there that he was VP when COVID broke out and that Obama sent him to Detroit to fix COVID. He also invented a story of how he and the (black) mayor worked closely together to take care of the situation.

President Joe Biden erroneously claimed on Sunday he was still serving as vice president during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking at a dinner for the NAACP in Detroit, Michigan, Biden went on a tangent proclaiming he was on the ground in the state to help out as the virus raged on, at the request of former President Barack Obama.

“And when I was vice president, things were kind of bad during the pandemic,” Biden said. “And what happened was, Barack said to me, ‘Go to Detroit, and help fix it.’ Well the poor mayor, he spent more time with me than he thought he was ever going to have to. God love you.”

Biden was referring to Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, who took office while Biden was still VP back in 2014.

1 - He wasn't VP when COVID broke out. 2 - Obama didn't send him to Detroit to fix COVID. 3 - What good would it have done to go to Detroit during COVID anyways? That makes no sense. 4 - There was no working with the mayor to fix the problem. COVID, which effected the entire planet, couldn't be fixed by Biden and a mayor in Detroit. That's aburd.

Eh. It’s just brain-fog from long Covid.

He’s doing a great job in spite of the affliction.

Do you know how hard it is to help out in Detroit from your basement?

H1N1 was also declared a pandemic back in 2009.

Also, I think Biden made no specific reference to COVID-19. So I'm guessing that the one who conflated things is the reporter who could not conceive of any virus or pandemic other than SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19. Perhaps the reporter has dementia?

They worked closely and accomplished nothing then, which is arguably worse. If it weren't for the less severe strains taking over Biden had ZERO plan outside of Extorting his employees to take a jab that caused blood clots at best.

You must feel proud of yourself. Even if that is the case, what extraordinary means were they using to fight that pandemic? Or are you saying Joe was inflating the severity of that particular pandemic? I don't recall any nation-wide quarantine's during that time. So was it inflating an actual event to invoke the memory of the covid Era in a situation that was no where near close?

The H1N1 pandemic was contained and didn't kill millions. The response was quick, well executed and worked (Unlike a similar respiratory virus pandemic under a different administration). So, perhaps Joe did do something?

Because they rapidly quarantined those who had swine flu, the pandemic didn't become epidemic in the USA.

There was no need to lock-down because they reacted quickly and effectively, unlike later administrations.

Also. H1N1 was not novel, so people had some immunity from similar strains of flu.

Ahh I see the goal post you moved! First off, Obama would not put Biden in charge of anything. The same guy he told people to not underestimate his ability to screw things up! Unlike Biden, Obama was a fairly smart guy and everyone knew he was in charge. Obama would not risk a screw up from Joe. Second, in light of what has been being revealed can we trust our "intelligence" agencies actually gave a complete briefings? We already have acknowledgement that they withheld intelligence. Politics over doing their jobs.
My take away is Joe has not a single accomplishment he can point to that casts him in a positive light. His speel at the naacp was to invoke memories of the Covid-19 Era and try and make it seem like he actually dealt with a similar issue. The other more likely option that he was just lying as usual.
