I Said I Would Do Anything For My Grandsons. That Includes Battling The Hubby...

I Love him so much, I've let him win the ongoing, 10 year goat argument.
But I have to do this.

I have to take in my grandsons cat. We already have 2 inside and a dog. What's one more?

I received a text this morning, asking if we would do this, due to an impending move. (They have known about for 6 months, but did nothing.)
I spoke to hubby before heading to work and he is against this. Wholeheartedly.

Then as I am sitting here at work, I remember a conversation.
A very upset young man, asking what would become of his cat, if they had to move.
And seeing that sad face, I said what any good grandmother would. "If it comes to that, I'm sure we could take him in." That was 2 months ago.

So, I get to go home, and explain to the hubby, why we actually have to do this. That my words came back to bite me.
He is going to be mad. I'm going to hear about this for a while, as will everyone else.
Hopefully, he will get over it soon. I'll let him spend some more money on his go kart. LOL

And I'll remind him: The way things are going for our grandsons right now, I would let them move in with us tomorrow, if their parents would let them.
So he should be grateful, it's just a cat.

I'm never going to get my goats.

Well done for standing your ground.

Here, you can have these pics of a goat I saw in my local shopping centre...

You are doing it for the cat, not the grandson. Put that argument to your hubby.

We have gotten animals from our kids and grandkids that they couldn't have anymore. In fact our present cat, and the fish in the tank came from the kids. Now we babysit the great grandkids a few days a week and every day the granddaughter gets on the bus and off the bus for school at our house so she is here every week day but the great grandson is usually only here two days.

It could be much worse than a cat, they could drop off their kids for you to take care of. We took in my granddaughter from my oldest daughter and raised her for many years...she was five when she came here. I would never ever wish to change that, and now we are helping to take care of her kids...since she is now dead.

Yep, just what I wanted! Just 2, to have for entertainment!
Why was it in a shopping center? Seems weird.

It's a pet and the family were visiting the local dentist clinic, so they take him with them, just like a dog.

What's the plan if your grandson wants it back if he gets a place he can keep it in?

It will be hard, I'll have to give it up. (Unfortunately, for my grandson, the odds of that are very slim. But, miracles do happen!) I'm getting it fixed too, as that hasn't been done either.

I had a pet goat and he was so much fun, but arguably one of the dumbest pets I've ever owned! lol My koi are smater than he was.

Are you sure you want two? They can be quit destructive in their mischevious antics.

OMG!~!!! That is his exact argument! They will destroy everything!!!!

My counter was, only if you let them out of the fenced in area!

Which of course, he knew I would do, occasionally.

I still say stick with one; two would be awfully hard to control, unless you wanted to 'free' them one at a time.

Better yet, get some pigmy goats! I've tried talking my hubby into one, but he's opposed to goat poop in the yard. I may just have to have his wife buy me one for my BD.

Well, lets face it.
A brilliant plan would be:
I will buy you one, and you buy me one.

Then neither one of us should be in trouble, right? LOL

You are a hell of a man, Mr. Mouse!

I honestly believe, when I get home tonight, he knows I'm going to do it.
He will put up a little more of an argument and then give in.

You know, when you've been with someone for so long.

I was raised by my grandparents Ricky and I am glad I was as my parents were and still are asses , I got their quiet hardworking way of life and morals and recently said to one of my parents, I buried the people who raised me the ones I thought of as mam and dad .

You are a good man Ricky

Being a guy myself, I know most men are pretty easy going. But I have to ask, two months ago when you said you could probably take in your grandson's cat, did you first ask what your husband thought about the proposition? Or did you just decide on your own? Guy's do like to be part of the equation in a relationship.

I didn't ask first. Should have, but it was just one of those moments. His young face looked crushed at the thought of losing that cat, and I had to fix it.
