Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose ordered the state's voter rolls to be purged of "non-citizens" Tuesday after a review found more than 100 Ohio residents who were registered to vote despite lacking U.S. citizenship.

An investigation by Ohio's Public Integrity Division analyzed data from the state's Bureau of Motor Vehicles and found 137 people who appeared on voter rolls despite twice confirming they were not U.S. citizens. Ohio law requires that in order for a person to be removed from voter rolls, they must have confirmed their lack of citizenship to the BMV on two separate occasions, and also have updated their voter registration or voted in between the two occasions.

"These individuals will receive at least two written notices from the Secretary of State’s office asking them to confirm their citizenship status or cancel their registration. Failure to respond to these notices will result in removal of the registration from the voter rolls by the county boards of elections," LaRose's office told Fox News Digital in a statement.

This should be checked up on. Perhaps it's just some honest mistake. But if not, and we actually have illegal aliens registering to vote, that's a problem. Sure it's just 100 or so in Ohio, now. But there must be a reason the democrats want to flood the US with illegals, and I doubt it's because we have a surplus of money that must be spent and showering illegals with benefits seems like a fun way to spend it.

I'm not saying this is some catasptrophy, but it's worth keeping an eye on. If "they" get the ability to have non citizens vote, then it will escalate from there, as history shows.

The more confusing/poorly designed part is the opt-out nature of it where the law requires you to twice confirm you are a non-citizen to be removed after already getting approved, rather than once confirm you are a citizen up-front.

I'd bet that there are 100 times more than that and they just haven't found 'em.

I actually have less of a problem with these people voting than I do with unalive (dead) people, fake / fictitious, and illegal aliens being on the voting roles. At least the non-citizens have made their presence known and are likely here legally, and not just become either non-existent or a burden to our system.

I don't care what anyone says, the fact that fake, dead and illegal voters DO manage to vote is not up for debate. I say this with 100% verifiable certainty. The only (bigger) question is, to what degree do these phantom people vote?

I personally believe there should be a category in the voting process where a voter has to indicate whether this is their first time voting (or something like this) so there is a way to see how many new voters show up on the roles in an election, and the demographics of these same people (i.e. what district they vote in). I'll bet that data would be very surprising to parse in a contested election!

I would posit that you have omitted at least 3 zeros in your assessment! Completely agree!

These non-citizens are probably those anti-immigration MAGA folks that just found out that they themselves were not citizen lol.

These are probably legal green card holders with drivers licenses.

The ones who at every step of the way told the truth, and have not voted as they are working towards citizenship.

Wait, our leftist members always insist non-citizens can't get registered to vote because there are protections?

Additionally, there must be a reason why:

- Democrats falsely claim it's "racist" to scrub the voters rolls of dead people and people who have moved
- Democrats falsely claim it's "racist" to audit the vote
- Democrats falsely claim it's "racist" to require a voter ID

No one actually believes any of that. It's quite obviously preposterous to suggest those things are racist.

So there must be another reason why they don't want to secure the vote.

The most obvious reason would be that it would prevent them from cheating. If they had an actual good reason, I think they'd state it instead of the extremely obvious lie that it's "racist."

Yes it is.

It's like an iceberg. What you see is only 1/3 of the iceberg.

The rest is underwater.

This is probably 1000% accurate.

I agree it's messed up but I don't think it's poorly designed. It's exactly what they want

If you want to vote then just don't tell them you're not allowed to twice. If you slip up and spill the beans it's OK. They'll avert their eyes but if you keep doing it then they just won't be able to continue to sweep it under the rug.

So they found about 100 people that meet this absurd criteria, but how many admitted they weren't aloud to vote only once and get to keep casting ballots?

This is not an accident. We have a gang running the country.

What this shows is that the States do check the voter rolls for non-eligible voters. It has been going on forever. This whole non citizen and dead people voting accusations is mostly just pure nonsense.

Are you an idiot all the time? Or just today?

You'll notice it didn't say that they found 100 out of the entirety of the ohio voter rolls. They found 100 in a sample. Depending on the sample size, this could indicate a rather severe issue. Even if it was a small percentage, ANY illegal voters on the voter rolls is a problem and should be addressed. Why do you not see this as an issue?

If it's not an issue, then why push back against checking it more frequently? Why push back against checking it at all? If it isn't an issue, why do states keep finding non citizens on their voting rolls and dead people voting? Why does it continue to happen?
