Spanish names have always been common in the US. Manny names date back to the Conquistadors. You can still visit Spanish forts in Florida and in the Caribbean. The Gulf Coast. On and on. Spain left a mark here.

So growing up people had all kinds of names but I usually had no idea someone's parents were First Generation migrants unless they told me.

Today you know they are first gen because they don't speak English. You know immediately.

One time I had a friend and had no idea he was Japanese until I went to his house and saw how it was decorated.

Today, most of the kids I see don't speak English. They don't want to. Past generations did.

Most of the first gen immigrants of the past had come from pretty bad places. That hasn't changed. But in the past most seemed to realize not just how much better America was but why.

Today, you have people from African countries that seem to get it. I've met some wise Kenyans. Many Asians seem to understand why America is better than where they came from and are grateful to be here.

But, what is going on currently at our southern boarder is conducive to a different attitude and mind set.


That's what I see. Like I said. I don't have a link to my life. But I don't need CNN to tell me what I see and hear.

I live agricultural area - Mexicans are very, very important to the food grown in this country. I can't spell it out more clearly than that. It doesn't matter if they are legal or not - it matters that they are here.

Yes, it does matter. There are work visas for them; no need to become a criminal to work in America.

White people do not go and try to find farm work unless they not hirable for whatever reason at a "real job" and the white children of even very wealthy farm owners do not want those farms when they come of age.

That's a giant load of crap. I've lived in farm country for many, many decades and it's mighty rare to see illegal-or even
brown' people, as you so eloquently call them, working around here. Yakima hires a LOT of Mexicans because the farmers can get them to work for less than minimum wage, pay them under the table and not have to provide any benefits-such as safe working conditions. They just use and abuse them while authorities look the other way as they pocket their hush money to do so.

He put up his illegal immigrant workers in sub-standard living conditions and truthfully treats them like slaves - he was fined a few million dollars for his behavior. Unfortunately, he does have an heir - his daughter actually helps him run the company - they are both terrible people. They seek out immigrants that cannot speak English so they can't do anything. The man is asshole of epic proportions and unfortunately there are hundreds of him and they will own everything outside the cities soon.

Which is exactly why migrant workers need to go through the legal process and apply for work visas.

I'd guess you're not a 'white person' and looking for reasons to feed your victum mentality, while making excuses for people to break the law.

Maybe you should do a little research into the criminality of illegals. they're rapidly becoming the number one offenders on the list criminals.

One begins to wonder if you're here legally after reading your posts defending the invasion of illegal migrants.

Yeah. Because he spoke English and was an American like everyone else. I had lots of friends like that. I had a friend from Columbia a friend with parents from Chile, a friend with parents from Nicaragua, friends with parents from Mexico, friends with parents from France...

The people coming here today illegally over the Mexican boarder have a different mind set.

If you don't see that then you either don't live here, live in a bubble, or have another agenda (like you're illegal or racist or both)
