“The policy that has never been far from my mind for the past six months is the nearly unqualified support for the government of Israel, which has enabled and empowered the killing and starvation of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians,” Major Mann wrote in the post,

As the death toll in Gaza has risen, the Biden administration has faced waves of internal dissent for supporting Israel in the war. In October, Josh Paul, a State Department official in the bureau that oversees arms transfers, resigned in protest of the administration’s decision to continue sending weapons to Israel.

“I know that I did, in my small way, wittingly advance that policy,” the major wrote. “And I want to clarify that as the descendant of European Jews, I was raised in a particularly unforgiving moral environment when it came to the topic of bearing responsibility for ethnic cleansing.”

Well I wonder who paid this one off to quit? 😃

Never heard of him.
Don't care.
Israel isn't 'ethnically cleansing'.
Israel isn't 'genociding' either.
He's easily replaced.
Whatever.

Erm, what exactly is the downside to this person quitting? I don't see one.

The ethical reasons he stated are reasonable. The downside if his reasons were valid, then many of his comrades might be demoralized to continue in the service.

From what I understand, while a military officer can have a political opinion, they are not allowed to express it openly in their official capacity. I think this is breaking some regulations.

That's why he resigned. So he wouldn't be breaking regulations.

State Official John Paul has also resigned among many others over the war in Gaza citing a lot of reasons. One of them it has to do with the US selling and giving arms to Israel to slaughter civilians.

Boy, you pro-Hamass guys don't stick around here very long.

In responseto your point...it's good to know there are even more Israel-hating, pro-Hamass, Leftist State Officials resigning.
They should all resign.

If only we’d had this response to the military being jabbed.

As if our legislators being exempt wasn’t enough of a red-herring…

These pro-Hamas State Officials are probably really resigning because they know they'll be gone when Trump gets in.

People are allowed to have an opinion about this war, since he did not like what was happening he resigned. That is better than staying on and causing problems in our military. We should support Israel, they have been a close ally for many decades. Hamas wants to spread deceit to make everyone believe they are the victims. There are international laws that state that a country should not be launching attacks from populated areas and the fault should be placed on Hamas and a few other groups there that are sticking their weapons and headquarters in all sorts of places they should not be having them.

It doesn't matter if you have never heard of him. One can argue nobody has ever heard of you! You are just offering apologies on behalf of Israel and unqualified personal views dismissing everything just like all apologists do. But if it was this way then we wouldn't need courts and lawyers but the views of random online posters to deal with possible genocide cases and crimes against humanity.

Here is a holocaust survivor who says what many other Jews are saying: Israel is committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.

“Gas chambers and the hundreds of concentration camps which starved, tortured, and eliminated Jews by disease, is repeated today in the Gaza concentration camp — the largest concentration camp in the world

“Death chambers and ovens have been replaced in Gaza with tons of bombs that destroys all in their path. Gaza has become a death camp,” Weiss said, condemning Zionism as racist colonialism.

“Conflating Zionism and Judaism is an unforgiveable crime to the Jewish people, to the Palestinians and to humanity,”

www.greenleft.org.au...

Self-explanatory as an article. Pay particular attention how the New York Post and the other links you are using have failed to mention the numerous Jews and holocaust survivors who criticise and arguing the State is committing war crimes and genocide.

The State of Israel is an ethnosupremacist and apartheid State.

I ve noticed you are using the IDF and ADL as sources of information. Please...don't you have anything better and more reliable? IDF has been accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity and they have killed tens of thousands of civilians according to all metrics and standards.

www.cnn.com...

UN says total number of deaths in Gaza remains unchanged after controversy over revised data

The only people who want to revise the data and claim whatever they want to claim are the Israeli apologists and the Zionists. Nobody else dismiss the magnitude of human tragedy and disaster.

I didn't know the US Army has leftist majors and leftists officials who won't peddle the narrative and won't support Zionism.
