House Dems just voted UNANIMOUSLY to give illegals representation in Congress AND the Electoral College. House Seats and Electoral College votes WILL BE added to areas with the most illegals unless Senate passes the bill. Invasion by design.

I love this.

Illegals may get representation?

If that happens, this country is a joke and truly lost.

They only thing they should get is deported.

It may be time to buy more ammo. This is not going to end well.

I know I'll be damned here but I'm going to post this anyway. mystreioustranger commented that I am probably #1 here on ATS for condemning our federal government. She is probably right because at this point I truly despise this government. It stinks of compromise and corruption.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene offered up a motion to vacate the House Speaker's position today. As expected, the majority of republicans joined a majority of the democrats to table the motion. It failed miserably and showed that the republicans are just as corrupt as the democrats. There truly is one uniparty and honor is not to be found in it. In these past few weeks, Mike Johnson has proven, through legislation that has given the democrats and Biden everything they asked for, that he does not adhere to his professed conservative Christian principles and is more than willing to compromise and betray his party not to mention the conservative electorate that sent him there.

He is the modern-day Judas.

Politico

Speaker Mike Johnson survived Greene’s first proposal to oust him, which was tabled on a lightning-quick 359-43 vote
Only 10 conservatives voted alongside Greene...

This is the same guy who introduced legislation prohibiting illegal residents (Biden migrants) from voting without having the necessary citizenship or registrations.

But the Jews. That's the big thing that needs immediate action and reparation.

Am I missing something here?

Johnson knows it won't get past the Senate, and Biden would never sign it anyway.

Purely theater.

The only thing getting passed is what benefits the uniparty.

That's absurd.

The only good job he's doing is in killing the economy and the Constitution, and funding endless wars.

You don't think letting the FBi spy on Americans without warrants isn't oppressive?

How many in congresses has proposed legislation to reign in or get rid of the Patriot Act? Which of them have tried to demand the espionage act isn’t abused?

Here is one time for sure we can agree to agree. What the hell happened is Bush the 1st lied to get his fifedom setup with Reagan being shot by a close family friend of Daddy Bush. Bush the 2nd was a well planted RINO working for the Uniparty. Patriot act is not Constitutional but the Supremes ruled it was. The totalitarian state began right then here in America.

Just slap national security or espionage on it even if there is no other entities involved.

The take-away I got from that list is Every stinking one is a multi-millionaire except for five, making it a rich man's club, with quite a few being born into their wealth. It looks like these members enter politics to control legislation and pass laws that favor increeasing and protecting their wealth, not to serve the better good of the people. Many are newcomers, starting in 2019; changing of the guards to allow the ancient ones to retire?

As long as there are no term limits and such vast wealth to be made as a politician citizens will never be anything more than endentured servants for life.

It looks like there are really only two requirements to work in DC; you must be a millionaire and you must not have a soul.

Scum politicians

The US Constitution was set up so that there would be would be a balance of conflicting opinions, so that none would take precedence over another.

The Constitution was formulated to prevent the unified autocratic tyranny that you seem to favour.

I'm not saying he isn't a good person. I'm sure he is and only wants what is best but he has no stamina in him. His spirit is weak and easily swayed.

No, I can't leave him be. Even though he professes to be devout he has shown himself to be a weak man that is easily swayed from his convictions and manipulated. He has no strength of character or purpose in him.

I believe we should review this quote:
"Weak men create hard times. Hard times create Strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men."

We had our 70's and 80's where the previous generation had good men who fought pure evil. Here we are again.

Nixon and Reagan were massively corrupt. Gerald Ford was Nixon's apologist. Jimmy carter was barely a President.

The crack epidemic, organized crime, terrorism were in their heyday in the 70's and 80's.

It wasn't that great a time.

Also, arguably the rise in incarcerations to current police state levels in the USA was initiated then.

No, I do not favor autocracy. I do understand that there are many differing opinions there and they all have to work together to legislate but at this point they are more concerned with retaining each of their individual parties stranglehold on power over serving this nation.

What I do understand is, at this point they do not concern themselves with upholding their vows to protect and defend the Constitution or serve the citizens, over protecting and defending their individual corrupted parties. Case on point is how every Democrat, and often every Republican invariably, every time, votes in lockstep the way their party leadership dictates, constitution be damned. Their only other objective is to get rich in the process, the nation be damned.

Yes, the Constitution, which I also swore an oath to upon entering the military years ago, set the stage for a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, but I don't think the founders envisioned just how corrupt these individuals and parties would become. Today, they are completely self-serving, the people and nation be damned.

It is sad to say but honor, integrity, and dedication to this nation are rare commodities in Washington DC at this point.

A political campaign is very expensive. Pretty much everyone who stands for election is independently wealthy beforehand.

It is a complete fantasy that "anyone can make it in America". A review of recent history will clarify that point.

The American system is adversarial and reduces all choice down to one of two candidates. Historically these choices have been sub-par for a country with so many qualified and capable potential candidates.

It indicates that there is something going wrong with the electoral system, in that it always produces two duds.

At least it has term limits, though.

Although even their campaigns are somewhat expensive, I admit the presidential race is massively expensive but not so much so for the down-ballot races where the candidates only have to win their individual state.

The problem there is that the voters in these individual elections do not truly get the opportunity to know who they are voting for. They are either unintentionally or wilfully ignorant of just who the candidate is that they are pulling the string for. All too often they pick and choose based on photogenicity and charisma and not much more.

Unfortunately, the fault with electing competent candidates lies with the voter. There will always be bad people seeking opportunity and it is up to the voter to weed them out.

If Mike Johnson is Judas who is Jesus in this equation?

Can't be The GOP, only 11 voted to cast Judas out.

Very bipartisan bills being passed and decisions being made. It appear he's only Judas to a dwindling minority that are ultra-attached to oppression.

He's doing a good job, especially the part where he has a spine, leave him be.

I like to refer to them as the koo-koo caucus. They just want to disrupt things and act like total clowns. Honestly, congress would be a better place if they took the koo-koo caucus and the Squad and dumped them all on a remote island. There might be a slight edge back towards sanity in congress. Those people are the biggest troublemakers. Its good Johnson is trying to grow some balls. Plus, hes not an idiot because he and the rest of the GOP know the koo-koo caucus, if left unchecked, will cost the GOP their control of congress.

Again, sir, you have managed to wade through the nonsense and point out the elephant in the room. That damnable Patriot act, the biggest slap in the face of the constitution, still stands, and keeps getting expanded upon with every administration. No one ever seems to propose legislation to eliminate or reduce it. And you want to know why? Ill tell you a little secret. They have no intention of getting rid of the Patriot act or the violations it brings, because its very useful to them in oppressing or persecuting the opposition. The label of terrorist has been so loosely applied and slapped on various groups of people as to become meaningless. Everyone I dont agree with is a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer, is how things work now. Its insanity.

And since we are on the subject of the Patriot act, alot of people seem to have ignored the fact that a couple of days ago the REAL ID act finally took effect, and you can no longer fly within the US without one of those new Real ID federal ID cards or a passport. So now they are restricting travel unless you have your "papers, please". I havent seen any threads about this either. Why are there no protests or anger over this?

Honestly it’s the abuse of the espionage act that’s even more alarming than the patriot act to me.

The patriot act is largely a surveillance bill. But the espionage act has been used against some whistleblowers who didn’t even communicate with any foreign individuals. The scariest part is how it’s enforced in a trial. They can use secret evidence a jury can’t see and sometimes the defendant can’t even voice what their intent was. Intent is what guides our justice system.
