It turns out that after months of reading and hearing incessantly "without hostages there will be no peace" and using this as a justification for the murder of thousands of babies, babies in incubators, children, women, the elderly and the sick, we learned of this information through Israeli media:

"No representative of the government or the IDF had updated the families of the hostages that the IDF was beginning its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip. We couldn’t understand how it could be that the families weren’t getting updated on the ramifications this could have for them.

We left the meeting very disappointed because Netanyahu talked about dismantling Hamas as the goal of the war. He didn’t promise anything regarding the demand to return the hostages. He merely said a military operation in Gaza was needed to serve as leverage for the hostages’ release.

“We later found out that Hamas had offered on October 9 or 10 to release all the civilian hostages in exchange for the IDF not entering the Strip, but the government rejected the offer.”

Did Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot support your effort or were they not active on that front?
We worked with them all the time. Any time we wanted to meet with them, they agreed. They pressured Netanyahu to make a deal, but Netanyahu sidelined them. The families are still asking Gantz not to leave the government” — as many government critics have increasingly been urging them to do.

How come the first hostage deal was relatively quick (53 days since the war began), but the second deal has been pushed off for over 200 days? (Rubinstein said he has “no doubt” that a protest march to Jerusalem that he organized brought about the November deal in which over 100 women and children were released in exchange for a week-long truce and Israel freeing female and underage Palestinian security prisoners.)
The main reason is the prime minister’s refusal. On the one hand, Netanyahu has told the families that the price” — likely the release of countless Palestinian terror convicts — “isn’t a factor. On the other hand, he’s holding onto all sorts of security excuses to prevent a deal.”
Times of Israel Source

After knowing that the main problem and obstacle to freeing the hostages has been Netanyahu and not Hamas, what is the excuse now?

After learning, even from members on this forum, that Israel will not be able to kill Hamas leaders because of their locations, which means "you cannot finish off Hamas", we continue to hear, see and read incessantly that the end of this war is to defeat Hamas.

If Israel did not accept the return of the hostages (they themselves murdered many of them) and they knew that they could not eliminate the Hamas leaders, it is clear what is happening in Gaza, it is not about the hostages, nor about Hamas, It is about continuing an ethnic cleansing that has been ongoing for 76 years.

Those who defend every televised atrocity in Israel tooth and nail do not care about the families of the hostages. The double standards and hypocrisy that some have at this time crosses all borders.

curious to know, was the plan supposed to be HAMAS says, "my bad" for killing and raping and taking hostages, and all would be good to go?

This war started because Hamas launched a cowardly and unprovoked attack against unarmed Israeli citizens. Raping, murdering, burning and looting as they went.

This offer is extremely transparent. Everyone knows they are a shield to deter an Israeli response to their crimes. This confirms it. “Hey yeah I know we raped and murdered your people, burned your towns and took hostages but you can have the hostages back if you let us get away with it! Pretty please???”.

What a joke. Israel should continue the war until Hamas is totally destroyed.

So no punishment of Hamas for the October 7th, slaughter of 1400 Jews?

Yeah....no.

So if someone brutally murders, rapes and tortures a bunch of people...then takes hostages and agrees to return them if all is forgiven...they are allowed to avoid punishment?

This makes sense to you?

Seriously?

Got some proof of that?
And what are the politics of Haim Rubinstein?
Never heard of him.
He's a 'communications' guy. No one of importance.
So how would he supposedly know anything?

IF its true that Israel could have had the hostages back the first week ... which I highly doubt is true ... then Israel was just supposed to leave Hamas in tact to hit them again and again and again? Hamas and the 'palestinians' have sworn that is their life mission, to destroy Israel and genocide the Jews.

Nope.

And considering how Hamas is hanging onto the hostages for dear life, and that the hostages are the only thing they have to negotiate with, I highly doubt it's true that they offered to give them all back the first week. Heck, they won't even give them all back now and there are only like a few dozen left alive. Story doesn't add up.

I'm sure Mossad could arrange for their mansions (refugees in mansions, what a sight) to suffer some unexpected gas explosions

Qatar and Hamas have a friend in the White House.
James Biden does business with them.

Israel has surveillance towers, drone balloons, one of the best border security systems, military bases on the borders with Gaza, they were warned in advance of an imminent attack, etc.

I am also curious to know where the IDF was in the first 8 hours when the Hamas terrorists entered.

Admitting Hamas is a terrorist organization and that October 7th happened is the first step.

Keep going...

They were busy killing 1500 Hamas terrorists and 'palestinians' who came screaming into Israel mass murdering and raping. NBC News This information is widely available so your insinuations that no counter measures were taken won't fly.

You are the only one who has said that, but I suppose the solution is not to kill thousands of innocent civilians as collective punishment for a terrorist attack that was warned in advance, even in conflicts, collective punishments are illegal. Nothing justifies killing children and women, nor destroying a territory completely.

it's a logical fail, but I suppose when failing, you have to go all in.

I also think Israel had a heads up on this, and let it happen. Much like 9-11, much like Pearl Harbor. But it still happened. The IDF didn't force HAMAS to attack Israel, they did that on their own. And they did it to provoke a war. Israel wanted to go into GAZA, and this was the ticket in. But to ignore what happened, or worse yet, forgive it, is a level of stupid not yet charted. IMHO.

Hamas is calling for the genocide of all Jews.

Unacceptable?

I'll let you decide.

In your humble opinion, you agree that Israel knew that an attack was going to happen, it allowed the attack to be carried out and this (PLAN), you forgive it, but nevertheless, you do not forgive that the attack that could have been stopped by Israel, was committed.

It is our humble opinion, it is the hypocrisy and double standards that I spoke of in the OP, which crosses all barriers.

Self defense justifies fighting back. Any dead women and children are the fault of Hamas and the 'palestinians' who support them. That's all on them. No one would be dead if they hadn't attacked Israel and called for the genocide of the Jews, forcing Israel to protect itself.
