I have 2 trucks and they have very different names for good reason.

The first is Gerty.

An old '96 Dodge Ram 1500. "She ain't exactly pretty, ain't exactly small" but she has got me out of some sh** I should have known better to get into with just a rear wheel drive and kept chuggin' on down the road. I never doubted for one minute that I was stuck. Gerty don't get stuck.
She's even been to Texas and back without a hitch. Which I'll never do again because the gas bill was YIKES!. She has a few rust spots and a big dent in the side where a deer ran into me last year. I didn't hit the deer, the deer hit me. See what I'm saying ? She might be old and ugly, but she's damn reliable. Like some tough 'ol woman from the Depression with that "do or die" attitude.

Then there's the Toyota.

Her name is Brittany.

Sure, it's a Tacoma TRD 4X4 Off Road..it's new, sleek, shiny and sexy. It's got all the gizmos, gadgets and buttons..she's arm candy.....but I don't quite trust her yet.
She hasn't been down in the scrum, where the mud is flyin and so is the cuss words. She hasn't gone 2,000 miles to pick up a couch. Yes, I did, but that's a whole 'nother story.
She hasn't proved herself yet, so Brittany she is and Brittany she shall be till she earns her forever name.

I still own my first car, a Mach 1 with a 429 in it. Picked her up in 1974,I never named her for some reason.
I have owned many trucks with names, Big Red. Bertha. Home Wrecker, Money Pit.
LOL, don't know why I don't name my cars.

The Nova, Chevelle, Blue Buick one, Escort, Cavalier, Topaz, White Ranger, Blue Buick 2, and Red Ranger.

I never named my vehicles, but i knew people who did. When I lived in Minnesota, we'd go on fishing trips up to Red Lake. There was a cool old guy that lived thereabouts. He had an old Jeep Wagoneer named 'Bertha'. One night we were all drinking some beers on the dock, and he pulled out a bottle of schnapps and said it's Bertha's birthday. We all toasted her, and asked him what he got her for her birthday. He said he got her a case of oil. Someone suggested that wasn't a very imaginative gift.
He replied " Nothin' fancy. She's a practical gal."

I have a 2013 f150 crew cab with the middle size bed.
It’s gray so it was dubbed “the battleship “

Other than that I’ve never named a vehicle

Yup; every single one. After my hubby sold my beloved 1997 Honda 'Lude I told him to never, ever buy me a classic auto ahain; I get too attached.

I now drive The Mean Green Machine. It's a 2007 Neon.
Having a disposable car is kind of freeing.

I named my car as well.

Funny I have never given this much thought but I have never named my house, nor my cell phone or laptop, all of which I spend just as much time or more in and with. Odd isn't we name pets, and cars. Not sure what else people name though...

Ugh F no, its the closest step up from street take over car guy level stoopid. In my experience the people that name their cars also are the first to run to the internet to "fix" their rides then bother to open a book to teach themselves.

I still have my 1st car and the 6 others that came after it and a daily driver truck, I dont name them. Its far more important to snag the specific year factory service manuals and know them in and out to make them last then to bother with stupid nicknames.

I envy the deaf and blind sometimes...

A few years ago I picked up a 1990 Toyota Corolla from my niece in San Francisco. I needed a basic commuter and she was giving it away. We drove to SF to get it and it was a mess. Broken side window, destroyed brakes, all manner of debris inside ( I think a homeless guy lived in it for a little while). My teenage son took one look and said, "This is the jankiest car I've ever seen." From that moment on it's been known as The Janker and it runs like a dream LOL.

My car is named “Karen.” She's white and old with a blonde convertible top.

Whenever I go in for an oil change, the manager immediately comes out. We don't even have to ask.

When we buy gas, we always go to the front of the line.

I got an impala, her name is Paula. Don't got a cool story to go with it, that's just what I named her. Had a Bonneville I called S.S. Bonnie because she was as big as a boat.

Peace

"Moana". Cause this Chevelle SS, 427 Vette engine, dual quads, (had tri-power), Hooker Headers, Hurst 4 speed, high traction rear end....

Named her "Moana"... Cause she roars like raging-"hormones"...ie: Moana

Lets see, do we name our cars? I'll ask Sushi..our made in Japan Subaru Forester...she said no, her name was Sushi since she was born. Now Steve, our plowtruck we got from Steve, a friend of ours that passed away about seven years ago maybe. Edie is the name of the Explorer we had...name is right on the back door...Eddie Bauer edition.

It's my wife's fault, she is the one who named her cars since I met her, I used to just call them their last name, like camaro, mustang, blazer, etc.... Never realized they had first names before I got hitched.
