What century do you think they'll be a majority? It's infeasible that immigration will achieve it.
Then there's the fact most Muslims are not that fundamental when it comes to laws. There's another fact that well paid educated people tend to have
less children, it's not about skin colour. I could mention my own family since I have 4 siblings and plenty of nephews and nieces, when it comes to
extended family the ones who didn't finish college or university tend to have large families... Probably getting near to 100 members these days (not
including aunts and uncles) and plenty of them haven't even started popping out little #s either. That's all just personal testimony though and hardly
worth anything against statistics.
Then you will get democratically instituted Sharia law. There are plenty of prominent Islamic figures openly talking about it.
They'd have to abolish common law and completely rewrite our constitutional monarchy, anyone with half a brain wouldn't wish to knock our system if
they live under it because even though it's far from perfect it does actually support individuals, especially the uneducated who happen to pop out
more kids... Call it socialism if you like. To me it doesn't sound like the majority of nations under Sharia law have much social mobility. 2nd, 3rd
gen plus Muslims I've met want a career and seriously enjoy their freedoms although I fully comprehend my perceptions might be slanted when it comes
to that and again they tend to have smaller families and seriously emphasis a quality education for their kids. The majority just follow customs due
to cultural peer pressure, outside the gaze of elders they really don't give a damn.
One solution to ease people's fears would be a 'socialist' one where childcare and support are free but only if the parents are educated to a certain
extent. We should be encouraging relatively smart and decent parents to have more kids, the more the merrier imho. Everyone else can have basic
support beyond an alloted amount of kids, lets say 2? Understandably that wouldn't be a popular opinion round these parts and I also consider it a bit
stupid myself, that said I know educated people tend to laugh at religious and cultural peer pressure whilst shying away from fundamentalist thinking
and extremism.
I'd prefer equality and accessibility than rigged games, I guess that makes me one of those stupid liberals in some eyes. I know what opportunity does
for the individual though, only absolute idiots walk away from personal betterment because "my religion says so" again imo those people tend to be
dumb.
