She's a good governor.

The people in her state like her.

I don't mind someone defending themselves ... that's fine. But the fact that she knows she has to and that she says 'the law allowed it so it's fine'. Tells me she knows she stepped in poop talking about this thing. She freak'n bragged about it.

Yep. I think she is a good governor and I've always said I thought Trump should pick her as VP because she'd do a good job. Now I"m rethinking that. She bragged about shooting a 14 month old puppy and a 'smelly' goat. I don't like her attitude with all this. It's just grossing me out.

She's been steadily losing support, anyway. This is probably just the final straw.

I wonder if her approval is higher or lower than 38.7%.
I wonder if she’s in danger of losing her job.

Of course she's in danger of losing her job. All politicians are always in danger of losing their jobs. That's why they lie, cheat, steal, pander & get on their knees.

Having an animal around here put down by a vet is around $125.00.

Ours did it for free. End of life service. The only cost was if we had the body taken away to be cremated and disposed of. That was like $40.

My cat recently died from a seizure at 15.

I was charged $122.50 for cremation and disposal of the ashes. That was a little over a week ago. I couldn't bury her and I was not about to toss her in the trash, so I paid it.

One of my other cats had to be put down about 3 years ago.....that cost me $160.00.

On a side note, if you don't want the ashes, one of the vets has a farm and he spreads the ashes for fertilizer.

If the dog was aggressive putting it down was a reasonable option. I disagree with the method, though I would be quick to point out that country folk would not drive to a vet and pay for the service the same way city folk would. The goat situation could have been handled better, but again, what method would have been acceptable had it been sent for slaughter? They aren't exactly singing them lullabies.

This reminds me of a scene from Everybody Loves Raymond when the Barones went to Amy's parents house for Thanksgiving. A bird flew into a window and got hurt. Pat said she would take care of it. She took the bird into the kitchen. A little while later one of the Barones asked how the bird was. Pat said, "I took care of it", making a snapping sound and a twisting motion with her hands indicating she broke its neck. The Barones ran amok with Frank saying, "You cant run around killing Gods creatures all willy nilly." A short time later Pat entered the dining room and announced the turkey was ready. Frank yelled, "Hey, rip me off a leg there."

So much for Gods creatures...

Farm people or even rural living people think much differently than you do.

I read those events you’re apparently absolutely aghast at and I honestly think nothing of this.

We had a bad dog before, my dad walked it into a the bush and shot it and I wasn’t even sad at the time I didn’t care for the dog either. I was like 10 maybe. Cats too, can attacked me one day then ran away straight up my dads leg and bit him too. Cat in one hand and hand gun in the other I never seen the cat again.

Don’t get me wrong I love animals. Owned them my whole entire life I’ve never not had a dog and some of the dogs I’ve owned I’d even risk my own life to save but I wouldn’t do it for every animal I’ve ever owned.

See just like humans you can get a loser animal too. And I don’t equate animals to humans and will always prefer human safety over animal safety.

I used to be one of those my dogs are my children kind of people. Then I had kids a realized how stupid that is.

Where I grew up, if the dog wouldn't get used to the noise of the shotgun, he/she was shot. One guy in town used to put them in a bag and throw them off a bridge if they were scared, or wouldn't "hunt".. Shooting is much more humane.

It's one thing to have to make a tough decision. It's another thing to be cavalier or nonchalant about it.

Disassociation = mental/personality disorders. Psychopathy.

After reading the article, read the comments section. Lots of republicans and Trump voters saying they no longer support her for VP and wouldn't vote for Trump if they pick her. It's both Republicans and Democrats who feel this way.

We've Finally Found An Issue That Unites The Country - Trumps Potential VP Pick Shooting Her Dog

We’ve finally found an issue that unites the country. Just about everyone is disgusted with Kristi Noem for boasting that she shot dead her dog, a 14-month-old puppy she said she “hated.”

If the South Dakota Governor thought any publicity was good publicity in her bid to be Trump’s vice presidential pick, she was sorely mistaken with this horrible disclosure.

The story comes from Noem’s upcoming memoir, “No Going Back,” in which she says she took her female German wirehaired pointer “Cricket” to a gravel pit on her farm and shot it dead for being “less than worthless,” according to The Guardian.

The dog’s crimes for which it needed to be executed? Cricket ruined a hunting trip by chasing birds and “having the time of her life,” and then on the way home, attacked a local family’s chickens.

Noem also boasted in the book that, after killing the dog, she took the family goat to the same gravel pit and shot it because it was “nasty and mean” and smelled “disgusting, musky, rancid.”

Sure, it’s a fact of life on farms and ranches that animals will have to be put down, but to do so in anger, as Noem apparently did, is appalling. The dog was young, and she had failed to train it properly or keep it under control.

The Guardian

“There’s no rational and plausible excuse for Noem shooting a juvenile dog for normal puppy-like behavior,” said a statement from Wayne Pacelle, president of Animal Wellness Action and the Center for a Humane Economy. “If she is unable to handle an animal, ask a family member or a neighbor to help. If training and socializing the dog doesn’t work, then give the dog to a more caring family or to a shelter for adoption.

“Raising and caring for a dog takes patience and kindness. Tens of millions of Americans who know and love dogs have to wonder about a person who expresses hatred for a young female dog and kills her.”

I always thought you had a sad gloomy outlook, with around 73million abortions per year you must be desolate on a daily basis

Perhaps not worrying about what others do in their lives and privacy of their own homes may help you become happy again ?

While I understand this mentality but don't personally agree with or subscribe to it (farm animals, dealing with aggressive animals, etc.) I WOULD NOT ever put it out there in a memoir as a politician. Sh*t strategy if you ask me but what do I know?

Meanwhile there are folks out here who care more about the life of an aggressive dog and turtle eggs than an innocent unborn child. SMH

Do you have that same energy for domestic violence victims, trafficked children, inner city gang violence victims, and people in third world countries? Are those also things that people shouldn't worry about? Or is it just murdered unborn children that people shouldn't worry about?

CNN freaking out today that Trump is now ahead of Biden in their Democrat-weighted poll...49% to 43%. The idiots honestly think Trump being found guilty in one of these sham trials will be their salvation, LOL.

If she did not write about it, then, if she runs for anything again, it would rear its ugly head. This will be in the news cycle for 2 more days and disappear.

Honestly, this is the same as abortion as someone else pointed out. It is a personal choice. You do not have to agree. You do not have to like it. But in the end it is a sad truth that can happen. This happens MORE than most of you would care to know. Would I do it, no, but that does not mean I think someone else with reason who did it is evil.

To me, this is not even something that should be on the discussion board for a candidate again, just like Pro-Life/Pro-Choice means nothing to me when I vote.

And people wonder why things have gotten so bad.
