2024 Pigeon Forge Rod Run - On the Strip (Video made for you)

I went to the Spring Rod Run in Pigeon Forge,TN last Friday night. This is one of the biggest car shows in the south, with thousands of cars making an appearance.

I like to make videos of events like this as a hobby and share them here with you all. I've been trying to get better at editing and have come a long way, but I'm still at novice levels. I added some UFOs in the sky, some alien predators in the background crowds, and an alien planet being destroyed by a black hole. It was good for motion tracking and object placement experience. Let me know if you see the predator and ufos.

I don't make any money or anything from these videos. They're just for our entertainment.

My mom was there, I believe on Saturday! They didn't have any of their old vehicles with them, as they were driving home from Alabama.

It was her first time, and she said she had never seen a car show that big. Unfortunately she just isn't able to walk that much any more, to see them all.

Step dad has a 57? Chevy truck, an old milk truck, like the one in the beginning of your video and a 68 mustang.

That "Upside down" car in the beginning was cool!

Sounds like they have some nice rides. Hopefully they can come back for the Fall Rod Run. It's even bigger than this one. Also, everyone there uses scooters on the strip now. Maybe she can try one when they come back.

Just an animated FX ufo. There is a pretty good "predator" in a clip of the crowd too. I'll find the timestamp so you can see it.

It's at 4:55. In the middle left of the shot, just in front of one of the trucks. It's not a pixel perfect placement, but I'm working on it. 😂

It was a good week here. Spring is one of yhe best times of the year. I drove over to Cherokee, NC for their spring car show yesterday. It was drizzling rain, just the perfect amount to make the mountains "Smoky". It was great. . .

. . . until the ride back, 😂. We made it back across the mountain to Gatlinburg, less than 2 miles from downtown, and the traffic was stopped.

I thought it was road work or just busy Friday evening traffic (5pm). I was wrong. A guy in a truck side-swiped a school bus. No one was injured, but it left both lanes completely blocked.

Adding to that, we were in a spot where there was no cell service and no one seemed to have the common sense to walk the couple miles or do a u-turn to Gatlinburg and make an emergency call.

I started the walk, but a guy asked what was going on when I walked past his car, then he got a bicycle down and road to town. I suppose that's who made the call.

I still found it strange that no one just did a u-turn to go back to town. We would've, but we were on the opposite side of the accident.

Anyway, long story a little longer, we sat there for about an 90 minutes before it got cleared up. Not really too bad, considering the location and type of accident.

Other than that it was a great time. My sister won $70 at the casino and I saw some great cars.
