Any protest that calls for genocide is no longer a protest its a threat and should be treated with a major response.

I doubt that most of them are calling for genocide. In fact, I’d bet they’d argue they’re protesting a genocide (not that I agree with them, just noting what their opinion is).

And again, if we keep blurring the lines on what’s free speech, and simply protesting against Israel is protesting for a genocide on Israel, where does that stop?

What happens if someone decides they want to protest against our involvement in Ukraine. What if people on the internet say they agree with Putin? What if people say “we should bomb the F out of ______”

All of those could be perceived as blurring the lines with being hateful against a group or calling for violence.

The only time I see speech as violence is when you say “I’m going to do _____ to ______”

Then what happens when someone says I hope biden doesn’t live till the next election? Is that violent speech, or is that wishing death.

I think people are too quick to cheer on people they disagree with getting the government boot.

And if we don't support any candidate from either side & don't put our faith in voting because we clearly see that elections are rigged? I suppose the next best solution is facing corruption head on by being vocal in your condemnation of it.

I bet you can't produce one video of protesters saying the things you claim are being said...

The reality is you have adopted the same values and principles as the people who advocated for censorship of anyone who questioned covid origins or the vaccine.

Rather than helping enshrine peoples 1st amendment rights by allowing the speech you disagree with. You call it threats of violence. Where have we heard this before?

That's a Democrat tactic.

You have literally become the people you claim to oppose. You don't oppose the boot like you claim. You only want it applied equally. If you can't see any similarities between this and Jan 6th you are compromised...

So you believe the cops should have shut down UTR the night before it occurred when people showed up on UVA's campus spouting neo-Nazi slogans and terrorizing students and faculty?

When people complain that Israel is evil and corrupt because of what they did to the poor gaza people, I am reminded that there are those out there who have never read history, have never been to the ME, and have been indoctrinated by some college professor while taking their masters courses in penis naming studies.

I am tempted here to say that when posters are arguing against the occupational of Ukraine they are reluctant to argue against the occupation of Palestine. Same posters (few of them). Maybe double standards?

Maybe because "palestine" is contrived?

Again, history is your friend.

Ottman Empire, yadda yadda. . . .

I can't see what you are saying.
Still double standards.

The same posters who argue against Russia occupying Ukraine don't really do the same with Israel occupying Palestine. I wonder why?! I doubt they know history.

Video? Sure. Some.

NY Post - Columbia University Protester Yelling We're All Hamas

"We are Hamas, pig ... Long live Hamas"

"We know where you live"

"From the river to the sea, Palestine is Arab!"

"There is no god but Allah, and the martyr is Allah’s beloved!"

Israel Go to Hell!"

"Resistance [Hamas] is justified!"

A pro-Hamas protestor calling on the Al-Qasam brigade (the military wing of Hamas) to kill Jewish students.

Never forget the 7th of October. That will happen not 1 more time, not 5 more times, not 10, not 100, not 1,000, but 10,000 times! The 7th of October is going to be every day for you"

"Let it be known that it was the Al-Aqsa Flood that put the Global Intifada back on the table again. And it is the sacrificial spirit of the Palestinian Freedom Fighters that will guide every struggle on every corner of the earth to victory."

“Yehudim Yehudim”- “Jews Jews.” They curse and yell “go back to Poland.”

There has always been a line when it comes to speech, all those times the left shut down right wing speakers on campus (after saying they could speak) opened the door to things like this.

If your not going to do free speech, then the rules have to be applied across the board, the school said dont, they did they got a response.

Again follow the money is what needs to happen not does this violate free speech, since students have a code of conduct (or used to at least) and once the school said dont the school had to respond or fold.

I don't vote

You speak as though you are part of the solution when you are part of the problem.

Those who choose to do nothing have no room to complain when things get bad.....your vote is the only thing that gives you real power to do anything in regards to our government yet you do not do it.

You are delusional if you believe voting gives you any kind of power.

Governments are corrupt
Elections are rigged

Now what ?

I feel like you’re still going off the premise that protesters were calling for genocide.

I didn’t see any evidence of that in Texas.

And even in the Columbia case, if you look at the stories, almost all of them note that the truly abhorrent chants were coming from people outside the campus. It’s NYC, so that could mean literally anyone, not necessarily people involved with the organized protest.

But if it’s a tit for tat you’re looking for, it looks like people got their win. The same types of people who would call right leaning people racist with no evidence against the individual are getting similar (often) baseless accusations against themselves.

Suddenly they’re calling for genocide by asking their school that they pay money to divest themselves from any interests related to the war. Which apparently equates to wanting the deaths of Jews.

We all know what I mean.
The same posters who argue against the occupation of Ukraine when it comes to the occupation of Palestine they are silent. They actually support it. It's only a few but it's evident in their arguments.

I am talking about certain poster here. Not everyone.

Occupation of Palestine is accepted to them
Occupation of Ukraine is no accepted to them.
Double standards?!

River to the sea palestine will be free...

if that was chanted its a call for genocide against the jews, period dot end of discussion.

Lets remove any talk of hamas, just that chant is literally calling for the extermination of jews in that region. just because todays college students have the awareness of a brick in a void doesnt excuse chanting that.

Were a majority of UT protesters chanting that?

Side question, if you accuse Israel of genocide is that antisemitism too?

Do you really believe this administration sincerely gives one F about the safety of Americans? This crack down is intended to stifle any criticism or debate against the actions of the Israeli-United States government.

Next, there will be a false flag event on our soil to usher in more tyrannical powers under the guise of protecting Americans and fighting anti-Semitism.

I can’t stand Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the corrupt Globalists that he represents but I agree that Putin is the cause of the war, is the aggressor, and could stop it any time he chooses.

Same with the Hamasholes.

Columbia... and these clowns at texas said they support them and stand in solidarity with them.

So yea they support the idea of that chant.

Accusing israel of genocide isnt antisemitism its stupid, look at the population of the region when israel became a country and compare it to now.

Worst genocide ever, heck if they wanted to kill everyone in gaza it would take a few days max. They have the capabilities to exterminate every man, woman, child, dog, cat, chicken in gaza quickly and at a minimum cost to themselves and yet they are doing it the hard way to try and get who they are targeting.
