Some people in Northern Ireland identify as British, and others identify as Irish.

Trust me however when i say, you try telling a lot of people from the likes of Belfast that they are not British and they are not apt to be rather pleased, especially around the 12 of July.

And on the flip side of that there are those from Catholic or nationalist communities, who identify as Irish.

But at the end of the day Northern Ireland is part of the UK hence people who live there could indeed be considered to be just as British as the rest.

If that's how they choose to feel.

To be rather honest its a bloody mine field. LoL

I'm Scottish and a bit of both, born here, mums from here, but my dad was from England, dead now.

Depends on the context really being Scottish or British.

Great Britain is the island that consists of England, Wales and Scotland.
It was called Great in order to distinguish it from Brittany in France.

The UK is The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The British Isles are all the islands including and surrounding Great Britain and Ireland - including The Republic.

British is a generic term for all the inhabitants of the UK.

I consider myself both English and British.....in fact I could go further and say North Eastern English.

Had a guy I worked with where in his last job was at a magnesium wheel/rim plant. I guess he got to witness a pretty bad fire.

I've been in the machining trades for 32 years. I've machined a lot of titanium and some magnesium, fires are common. Pain in the butt to work, flashes easily and a nightmare to put out.
