British TV Presenter Refuses To Use Guest's Preferred Pronouns

Im not sure how I feel about the whole trans issue. Its really complicated. Like, I understand normal pronouns, but not all these weird ones, or these genders that make no sense. But if a trans person looks enough like a regular woman, Im going to refer to that person as a she or a he or even they, whatever they prefered. If they look and sound enough like the gender they want to become, it would feel weird calling them by the opposite. Deliberately calling them by the opposite is just pointlessly rude. And if they are adults, and cutting off their junk and getting modified into looking like the other sex makes them happy and their lives better, then I dont think theres anything wrong with that, and will call that person a she or a he, whatever they want, especially if they have spent thousands in surgery and meds to get to that point. Ive met trans people that I would never know that they were trans unless they told me. And I dont go around with a DNA kit testing their DNA, or looking at their junk, because its not my business.

But when it comes to kids and giving them hormones, thats where I think things get shady. I know theres kids that have real medical needs, like they were born with some condition that needs to be fixed with surgery and meds, and I think thats cool. But just giving kids these meds or letting them cut off their junk because they like to play with dolls or are tomboys is nuts and irresponsible. If a boy wants to wear dresses and makeup, thats fine, but letting him take hormones or stop puberty just because he feel like a girl can potentially cause him serious problems in the distant future. Like, what if he figures out that he is a guy, but just a guy who likes to cross dress? (nothing wrong with that. btw) Or a girl who figures out shes just a tomboy? There are so many problems this is going to cause.

I also think alot of online trans activists are nutty. I dont know what they are like in real life. I live in a really liberal area, and even though I dont have any close trans friends, but Ive met and worked with some trans people, and they seemed pretty cool, chill, and level headed people. So I dont know. Its a pretty complicated topic. But I still think the presenter is being unnecessarily rude. Politeness doesnt cost anything, even if you disagree.

If I may interject, it seems as if you're debating psychological vs neurological issues. For this debate I'd heavily lean toward a psychological issue. But admittedly, there are other factors, which are rare.

Sexually he is non-binary. He is attracted to who he is attracted to. Physical appearance doesn't seem to be the qualifier.

Homosexuality is distinctly different to the believing you are the opposite gender. Sexual orientation is not related to perceptions of gender. A gay man for example is attracted sexually to other gay men or just men. He isn't attracted to women because he knows the difference between men and women. If you can't say what these differences are then again there must something wrong with the way your brain works.

There are lots of things that exist -- that science is yet to have factual knowledge of.
