Today is a total eclipse AND a comet visible during it called 'Devils Comet'.
Yeah ... I'd be taking a vow of celibacy for today if I was younger and 'trying' ....

Well, it was incredible. We had a little over cast that made it visible without glasses, then it cleared up as it went out totally.

You and Bluntone should have just came to my house in Ky. I live on 5 acres 6 miles outside of a town of 5,000.

No crowds, no traffic, plenty of BBQ and beer.

How close to Paducah, I have family near Cadiz? That BBQ and Beer sounds right hospitable of you!

About 1 1/2 hours North of Paducah and about an hour South of Evansville. Cadiz I'm not sure. I pass through there on my way to Ky Lake.

okay I went outside and peeked.

It is 90% here. Looks dark like it's going to rain.

The blue part of the sky looks washed out and like it has smoke in it.

Faded and not a pretty blue.

It's peak right now. Just looks like a rainy day kinda dark.

I used an automatic welding mask. There was only about 30% eclipse here in northern Cali that I saw. I didnt see a comet either

Cadiz is due west of the dam for KY lake about 15 miles or so. A good friend lives in Madisonville north of Hoptown (Hopkinsville KY)

I'm at approximately 3500 feet in the Southern CA mountains.

Totally clear sky - not one cloud.

The sun is so bright -- I can't tell if there's an eclipse or not.

I think we're only supposed to get a partial anyway.

Probably around 20% there.
You likely wouldn't even notice.

It already happened. The sky doesn't go totally dark if you don't have a total eclipse, but it did get darker out, as if the sun was hiding behind a cloud even though it wasn't.

Best I got Phone wasn't having any of it so I had to go grab my Nikon just caught it right when totality ended .

Here's the view from my house. For a brief moment you could see the ring but other than that just a bunch of clouds.

I saw the eclipse north o f Dallas. It was looking like I was going to get skunked and the the clouds broke just long enough to see the full eclipse, but only for a minute or so. For me , the coolest part is how quickly it went from near darkness to being bright again; like the flip of a light switch.
